Excellent automotive repair. They are very nice and the head of the service department (Mir ??) makes every effort to be professional. You defiinitely don't feel like they are trying to cheat you...anything but. Isn't the closest garage to me, but I'll return there for sure in the future.

These folks embody the concept of the caring, human-centered neighborhood garage. After I came in for a smog check on my Prius, the master hazard light went on -- big exclamation point and red triangle -- and the car died. The guys had it towed back to their garage, diagnosed it as "malfunctioning codes" as a result of low gas level that needed to be reset. They didn't charge me for any of it, even a gallon of gas! I am so grateful to them for their courtesy and consideration. They couldn't have been nicer.

This place is horribly overpriced!!! They charge $95.00 for a smog check. I will never be a customer at this station again. A smog check is usually $50-$60. I guess because they are located near Pacific Heights, they feel like making you pay way more than you should.

I am very sorry you feel we are over priced. We are within $3.00 of all other Smog Stations on this side of the city. We all have had to purchase new updated Smog equipment as well as pay rent in this area. You were given an estimate prior to the test being done and at that time you had the opportunity to decline our services. We work very hard to be fair on our pricing. We are not a corporate store and are a small business. We take pride in our work and service. I'm sorry you were unhappy with the pricing and you should have spoken to us at that time.

After moving to SF and not having dad for the first time to check on my car for everything(sad but true), I am so happy to have found this place! I've called just for advice multiple times and have had great service with repairs. I do take my car to the dealership for routine maintenance b/c of a prepaid package but for anything in between, this is my go to. Sometimes I don't want to drive into the dealership and buy the most expensive item (probably 2 months 2 early, you know?!). They are honest and hardworking.. Dan went the extra mile to get me the best deal on new tires on very short notice! Very much appreciated!

Pretty pricey smog test, even with a 10% AAA discount. Total came out to be $86.55. I didn't do my homework then, but if you're reading this then you probably are, so good for you! From skimming other reviews after the fact, I should've been aiming for in the $60s or less. More recently, I saw in the mail an ad for a smog test for less than $40 w/ certificate in SOMA. Oh well, at least this place doesn't seem shady, which of course you run the risk of at a new place advertising those low prices. Plus they play classical music here a lot, which is an unusual but nice touch.

I come here to get all my cars smogged. Great service and friendly workers. They tend to get busy so I recommend making an appointment. Even if you don't have an appointment they always try their best to get your car done that day. It's a great location because you can wait at the Starbucks down the way while you wait. They only have one test machine so you can't get mad if they don't finish in time. They are really the only STAR smog test facility in the area so know you'll you your moneys worth. Also, if you have AAA, you get a discount!

Eric in the service department is my hero! My car broke down suddenly in the neighborhood and he walked over with me to check it out. Even told me how to drive it so I wouldn't have to get it towed. They did the work, it wasn't pricey and they kept my car for a few days since I was headed out of town. Go see him! He's the best.

Pricey, no call back to let me know my car was ready. Failed my car on a smog check which passed when I took it to another shop.

I'd gone here before for smog certification so made an appointment more than a week in advance this year. The website says service starts at 8 a.m. but when I called to schedule, the woman said the smog check tech now comes in at 9 due to a family health issue and that the check would take an hour, but that I was first for that day. I made the appointment, figuring I could get to work by 10:30. I arrived 10 minutes early and the gentleman at the desk told me smog checks begin at 9:30, not 9 as the woman told me on the phone. He also noted there was already another client ahead of me and that my car wouldn't be checked until the other car was done. I made another app't with them, but later in the day called a station near my workplace and they had me in and out within 15 minutes -- and about 15 dollars cheaper than Pac Heights Chevron. Would love to support a family-run business in my neighborhood, but too many communication snafus here.

I am so sorry you had such a frustrating experience at our shop. You are absolutely correct, our communication was way off in the way you were dealt with. I appreciate the constructive criticism and we have made changes to our system to ensure this type of error does not reoccur. My apologies.
