I usually try to fix things myself. But I hadn't the patience for this dishwasher drain issue after a couple of attempts.

Linda answered the phone at Parkside Appliance and went through a checklist of basic troubleshooting to help me avoid the cost of a service call. Based covered, or so I thought, I scheduled a replacement of the dishwasher drain pump.

A couple of days later, Rick arrived and quickly discovered that the air gap was clogged. As he whisked away the debris, Rick lightly joked that I had done the hard part of clearing the drain, twice, and missed the easy fix. I was glad that I had overlooked that minor detail instead of having to replace a perfectly functioning pump.

Overall, I was happy to pay a minimal service fee and was glad to support this honest small neighborhood business. I would entrust Parkside Appliance to any needed future repairs.

This is my go-to appliance repair service. It's a small family run business and Linda is the best - she is friendly and empathetic and will try her best to get you in their busy schedule. It's worth the wait. She even gave me a tip on my dishwasher problem which actually worked, saving me a service call. Highly recommend!

We had some water pooled in the bottom of our dishwasher. I had cleaned out the filters as advised on YouTube but the water was still not draining. I called Parkside Thursday morning and got an appointment for the next day Friday at 5pm. Two youngish men showed up who then proceeded to push the cancel button on the dishwasher and loosen the air gap on top of the sink. The top on the air gap popped off and then out came a clump of something. The dishwasher drained and the problem was solved within 90 seconds. Parkside Appliance charged me $98.50. They accept cash or check only. The men who came by were super nice but I'm suffering a little bit from sticker shock. I am assuming their base rate for just a visit is $98.50.

Top notch. Dishwasher soap/rinse aid dispenser issue resolved (replaced) quickly. Excellent follow-up by Linda at the office. Rick, who came out for the repair, was fast, helpful, and friendly.

Plus I learned that you should clean out the filter at the bottom of a Bosch dishwasher at least once a month!

I love these guys and wouldn't waste my time looking for somebody else.

My dishwasher door was broken - instead of going down slowly when I opened it, it just flopped open. All State Appliance wouldn't give me an estimate over the phone, but they sent out their repair guy who said it would cost $250 to fix the door. I told him that I knew the part only cost $27.50, to which the repair dude replied that $110 wouldn't even cover the cost of his service time. I sent All State on its way. Parkside Appliance fixed it (with new, manufacturer-issued parts) for $110. I know who's getting my business next time.

My Kenmore dishwasher was leaking. Pulled up Parkside Appliances on Yelp and called. So glad I did. Linda answered and explained what was wrong and how to fix it over the phone. Linda's easy instructions made the situation a cinch. I'm happy I wasn't taken advantage of or paid money on a serviceman. Thank you, Linda!

I too have had nothing but excellent service from Parkside. Found them in the Yellow Pages. The fact that they are family owned works for me, and the fact that they are courteous, efficient, timely, and do great work is just a bonus, imho. I usually talk to (I think) Debbie, the daughter, on the phone. Her dad (don't know his name) comes over the the house, does his thing, tells you the truth, and leaves with your wallet intact and your dishwashing machine working. Boy was I sad when our dishwasher finally died, and my landlady put a cheepo replacement in. but when it breaks, as it inevitably will, I KNOW who I will be calling!!!

don't waste your time looking for great, affordable, reliable appliance repair service!! I researched many appliance repair shops to fix my dishwasher whose door latch was broken. All of the repair service shops want to charge the House call Fee ranging between $65 - $100. It's ridiculous. I have told them i'm sure it's only the door latch that needs to be replaced. But somehow they wanted house call charge be included in the total estimated cost. So After calling many of them. They quoted me $185 - $250 !!.

THANK goodness I found Parkside Appliance. They said 'sure, we can order you new doorlatch and come there and replace it. Just like that, they Linda, who is such a nice person to talk to on phone, did not bother mentioning house call fee. She quoted me only the part and labor charge that could be somewhere between $130 - $150..! Wow I set up the appointment right away with them.

They missed my first appointment because they got caught up in the previous job. They came today and fix it. A man and his dad were very kind, patient and knowledgeable. It came down to only $139. I wrote them check for $150 since i was pleased with their job and how it is so reasonable compared to others who keep insisting to charge house call fee on top of the labor and parts!.

GOOD JOB parkside!! I will do business with you again!

I called for a washing machine repair and was given an appointment two days later between between 4 and 6 pm. That was the soonest both myself and the technician could be available. Tom showed up at 4:10 and in about five minutes he had the problem figured out and replaced the door switch assembly. He had the part on his truck and in 10 minutes my problem was solved. I also had another problem with a dishwasher in another unit of the building and so Tom took a look at it. In another 10 minutes he had my dishwasher problem solved and showed me a tip that his dad taught to him. I will use him for all future repairs to my rental units in the city. It is a family owned business and Parkside Appliance responded with great work and reasonable prices. Thanks Tom & Parkside Appliance. You all are really as good as it gets.

I was looking for a repair service for my dishwasher. I was checking a few places on Yelp, when I read a review where they mentioned Parkside Appliance. Thought I would check their reviews and they were very good. Now I know why. I called on friday at 2:30pm and spoke to Linda. She was great! Said she could have Dan out between 4:00-4:30p the same day. OMG!! I couldn't believe it, but at 4:15p there was Dan at my door. He came in and isolated the problem right away. A broken belt, did I mention that my dishwasher is OLD. Apparently, they don't use belts anymore. Dan said he would order one and be back on tuesday. Linda called on tuesday like clockwork and said Dan would be out at 4:15p. Right on time. He proceeded to install my new belt and the dishwasher is back in action. I cannot say enough good things about this business. You read so many reviews about how people were ripped off by appliance repair companies. That is why I was so leery, but Parkside Appliance Repair has restored my faith in a business doing the right thing. Thank you Dan & Linda for a job well done. I will be recommending you to family and friends when they need a service technician. JOB WELL DONE!!
