Been a while since I've left a review for a company. I always give them the benefit of a doubt but this company deserves my negative review.
My refrigerator ice maker stopped making ice. Through the warranty which expired, they were referred to me and a technician came out. Relaxed ice maker and water valve. I've had this fridge for less than 3 years
Charged around $450+ (geez)
Less than two weeks, having trouble making ice but I was going on vacation and thought to worry about it later. Came home ice not working and I call them back, but unfortunately it's been more than 30 days and I didn't realize that the 2nd visit requires additional payment...another $270. Tech says I didn't turn it on. What...really? Ok guess that's my bad...I thought. Now it's working?
Over the weekend, it's making an ice skating rink in the ice maker tray. (Ice cubes then water pouring in, so solid block of ice in tray). Tech says to call him Monday, I forget but I text him. No answer, text him with photos again next week. No answer. Text 2 weeks later of same problem. Nothing. Then I get a call about scheduling the tech to come out.
Sure schedule it, but am I gonna be charged another $270-400? "Well Uhh it's past the 30 day policy"
Told the dispatcher that I'm not paying another cent for something they're supposed to fix the first time! It shouldn't be costing me $1000 for 3+ visits to fix a damn ice maker!
"Oh I'll get back to you sir."
Two weeks go by and "technician is coming Friday (2 days from call)
Ok I was taking half day for a dental appointment sure.
"Tech will come 12-4pm"
Take whole day off.
Call to tell me "tech will be arriving soon after 4:30pm"
Ok...I could've worked but just get here already.
7pm wife asks did they fix the ice maker.
Oh...dude never showed up...wtf
$800+ and 12+ hours of vacation used for an ice maker that makes bricks.

Charges $140 to come out for an inspection, never has same day appointments, charged $600 to repair a leaky dishwasher (ouch) (and he didn't even put the kickplate back on). Dishwasher which then broke again 3 months later. They only warranty their work for 30 days so I guess I'm out $600 bucks and still need to buy a new dishwasher. If you are getting their service free under warranty they are fine and knowledgeable but if you are paying for it like I did go somewhere else.

We were referred to Payless appliance from JennAir customer service. We have a jennAir stove top and oven, one of the heat element doesn't work. My husband ordered the parts a year ago, but he know it take a lot of work to replace it. Damon from Payless came over on time, very professional and knowledgeable, he replace the heat element, tested and it works. Very happy with the service.

Our dishwasher stopped working and our Maytag Warranty plan sent the work order to Payless Appliance to fix the issue. The first appointment was in Jan 2024 to diagnose the problem. Several appointments later, up until March, the problem was still not fixed. I called another appliance repair company and the minute the guy came over, the problem was resolved. Payless Appliance is very incompetent. I'm just not sure why Maytag Warranty has a contract with them.

We were referred to Payless Appliance from Lowes under our dishwasher warranty plan. They came and diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. The part was installed the day after the part was received. We are very happy with the service provided by Daniel and Crystal.

Contacted Payless Appliance via Kitchenaid support to resolve an ice maker issue. While the tech sent out was fairly courteous, he provided a temporary fix of defrosting the valve line claiming it was a water pressure issue.
Had my plumber check out our water pressure and no issues there. Tried to reach back out to Payless Appliance and left a message, but never heard back so I reached out for a second opinion and confirmed it was not a water pressure issue but a valve issue.
Overall - cost was pricey (over $250), scheduling issues, no return phone call, and tech left dirt marks on my ice maker not bothering to wash his hands or wear gloves before poking around in my freezer
I would not recommend using this provider in the futureHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Kwee K.Fremont, CA0508Jan 12, 2023
Call in for repair of my washer that is still.inder a warranty. It was coding an SD code. Maytag recommend this company..but i believed Maytag didnt know how bad this company is...Anyway, their echnician came in, play around with the display, and just told me to wait for the parts to come in..3 months, no words no reply nobody picking up my calls..
Tired of waiting, I called in somebody else, and they find out it was just a clogged filter..fixed it right there in just 30 minutes! My suggestion, AVOID THIS COMPANY AND CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Shelley S.Alameda, CA018Nov 27, 2023
My frig was (not) serviced on 11/6 through an Asurion warranty. The rep stated that the problem started because I let air in the system. No moving the frig and checking the entire system, contrary to info online,. I was advised to defrost the frig to drain 3" ice off, have lots of towels available b/c the process will take 2-3 days. Reluctant for fear of ruining my floors. I used a hair dryer which worked. Ice continued to build up, and frig continued to malfunction causing food loss. A competent technician from Aries Appliances with a stellar work ethic properly diagnosed the problem and fixed the frig.

my oven stopped working after self clean. Payless came out and diagnosed that control board was bad. They were able to get new board and replace it to get my oven working again. They ordered part and came back the following week to fix. Great service /no hassles.Perfect.

This company is awful and if I could choose anyone else I would. My fridge broke two months ago, before Christmas, and they have been here twice, both times without the correct part. It is February. They first ordered the wrong part and tried to blame Whirlpool, and Whirlpool sent a new part, promising me the service provider would call to set up an appointment. But Payless never called. So this company has prevented me from being able to keep food at home, and made no attempt to be in contact or complete the job. Hours and hours and hours of lost work waiting on hold for Whirlpool just to send me right back to Payless. When I call Payless, their tone is rude and annoyed with me for calling... and they blame Whirlpool who blames them. More weeks go by ... still no call. Fridge still broken. Nowhere left to turn. Awful company.
