I can't think of anywhere that we've received better information and an understanding of various products in order to make a smart decision for our next vacuum purchase. Thought we had done our homework on one vacuum model, but quickly realized by speaking with Ralph that there was a different, newer brand that would best serve our needs. We have pets, wool rugs and hardwood floors. After a great demo and education of the vacuum, we purchased a SEBO canister vacuum and am excited to recommend it to everyone! It is lightweight, durable, swivels magically and most of all, the control knob is on the wand so you don't have to bend down constantly, which really gets my lower back. So, even if you think you know what you want to purchase, Ralph's is a great place to go to open your eyes to something else that might be better for you to consider. They are all nice, super helpful and really want to have you leave with the right purchase for your needs. Go to Ralph's!!!

My wife & I went to Ralph's Vacuum to look for a new vacuum. We were thinking about a Miele or a Sebo. We met Spencer who asked us what type of floors we had in our house. He showed us the different models that were appropriate for the type of flooring we have & explained them to us. We tried them and told him that we would have to think about it.
Spencer said that there was no pressure to buy. If we decided that we wanted one to come back.
Spencer really knew his stuff.
My wife and I left the store and talked about it out side. We decided on the Seb and went back inside to buy it.
Spencer helped us again and gave us a free box of vacuum bags. He insisted on carrying the box (vacuum) to our car which was parked a half block away.
Spencer was extremely friendly & knowledgeable about the vacuums. His customer service was outstanding.
I recommend anyone looking for a vacuum to see Spencer at Ralph's.
The Sebo works great. It's much better than my old stick vacuum.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cleo C.Redwood City, CA55319146Jan 14, 2021
I haven't been to Ralph's since I don't know when. He is temporarily on Broadway near the corner of Main St. He's waiting for his other store to be ready.
Ralph's is a family owned business that's been in RWC for many, many years. So, i took my older sewing machine in for a tuning, but the next day they called and said it was dead, irreparable. And they didn't charge me for anything. I went home and looked at machines on-line to get an idea of what I'd need--I'm not a great sewer! I went back that afternoon and bought one from Ralph. His prices are not that much higher than they need to be and you get FABULOUS customer service.
I've gone back a few times since to ask questions or have my scissors sharpened. Prompt and done well. If you don't go to Ralph's, you should. Support small businesses!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim F.San Francisco, CA520114May 13, 2022
Purchased my Simplicity in 2007 and never had a problem. Changed filters & bag whenever the light comes on. Great service and when I need to purchase a new vacuum I will always purchase from Ralph's.

I was going to drop off a donation at Savers and just happened to notice Ralph's. Since I really don't like the store in Honolulu because the owner is so rude, I thought I'd check out Ralphs for vacuum cleaner bags and a holder for the filter.
The lady was really nice and helpful...in addition, their prices are so much less!
To me the store has the feeling of an old family run business. Nice people and they are a little diversified...vacuums, sewing machines, sewing lessons and some apparel.
I didn't have a chance to look all around as I was in a bit of a hurry...but I can assure you, that I will return next time I'm in the area.
Thank you!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Suzy R.Redwood City, CA342Jun 1, 2022

I brought my vacuum in to be serviced because the lower bridges stopped working. I even took it apart for diy but couldn't figure it out. Spencer took one look at it tinkered with it a little bit and did his magic. He even emptied out the bin. He refused any compensation for his time and he even made some future recommendations. He was so courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Ralph's for your sewing and vacuuming needs!!!

I am very impressed by the excellent service from Ralph and his staff. I bought a new house 4 years ago and recently noticed some burning smell from the central vacuum. I saw Ralph's Vacuum & Sewing Center sticker on the machine and contacted the store. The staff listened to my description about the problem and thinks the motor might be bad. He suggested to bring the unit to the store for them to check out. He also provides me instruction how to take it off.
When I arrived at the store, the staff came out to help carry my unit from my car parked across the street even I said it is not too heavy and I can do it. At the store, they quickly tested it and confirmed the bad motor.
Ralph said the motor is still under warranty, but I need to show purchase proof. Unfortunately, the builder didn't leave me any information. Ralph contacted the builder, but didn't get any response. Ralph is helping me to get a warranty replacement motor from the vendor with limited information. I am very impressed to see someone who is willing to put the extra efforts to help a customers.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
