Red Hawk Resort + Casino

Our experience at Red Hawk Resort + Casino was overall very good. One of the standout positives was the complimentary valet service, which made our arrival smooth and convenient.

The check-in process was easy and the staff, particularly a friendly lady whose name unfortunately slipped my mind (possibly Posha?), was helpful despite my fumbling attempts at remembering names!

The only downside was the pool area, which felt small given the size of the resort. The pool itself was only 3 feet deep, more suited for lounging than swimming, and surprisingly lacked a nearby bar for poolside drinks. Having to trek halfway to the casino for refreshments was a bit of a buzzkill.

On the upside, our room was excellent. Clearly brand new, with a nice shower, well-appointed bathroom amenities including a vanity mirror and complimentary makeup remover, and plenty of unused drawer space. The mini refrigerator was a handy touch.

As for the casino, it's heavily weighted towards slot machines with just a small section for card tables. While the slot machines were fun, they did eat up our money quicker than expected. Shoutout to Ronald, our entertaining blackjack dealer, who made our table game experience memorable, even if he ended up taking our money too--what can you do but laugh?

Check-out and valet were as easy as arrival, and the fact that valet parking was complimentary was a pleasant surprise.

In summary, Red Hawk Resort + Casino is a great spot overall, but they really need to address the lack of a poolside bar and consider expanding their pool facilities. If you don't mind a short walk for drinks, everything else about the place is top-notch! The staff were friendly and made our stay enjoyable. Thank you, thank you. No

No I didn't win a jackpot. Casino wise, it is a lot like every other casino, again the beverage stations and bathrooms everywhere are fantastic! As are the free gifts I keep getting on the weekends without gambling.
The extra star is for the hotel!
Mom scored her free night and used it.
I went the day before to make myself feel better as she was going to be alone.
Mom has mobility issues and I worry about her traveling alone.
The valet service and all of the customer service were top notch. Mom didn't have to park or carry luggage or anything. She said she felt like royalty.
5 stars for keeping mom safe and making her feel comfortable and important!

Don't call for hotel before 8 am. I called at 6:40 am and the automated voice said press 1 for hotel reservations, I clicked 1 and a lady answered and said how may I help you. I told her I was calling about comp rooms and if I had any (I'm planning a bday party to have there) and she said in a very rushed and annoyed with me tone, "honey you have to call after 8 when they're open ok bye", and I said "oh, I thought this was who I called" and she said again with the same tone, "call after 8 ok bye." I didn't get a chance to say sorry or ask any other question so just fyi the hotel desk is not open until 8.

This is just an fyi for anyone calling for the hotel at RedHawk. I didn't know I shouldn't call before 8. I'll give it a try later.

I love Red Hawk. Parking and valet is very convenient. I love the fact that it's not a huge casino,but they tend to have a lot of up to date slot machines. The slot attendants and security staff are all so friendly.The host team is very friendly and accommodating as well. I also love the fact that they are the only casino in the area that have mobility scooters along with wheel chairs for rent for the handicapped. The scooters are $20, but you are able to use comps to pay for it. The wheelchairs are free you just have to give them your ID to hold. I'm not a fan of their high limit room as it is really small and I rarely win in there, so I tend to stay on the main casino floor.

Lawrence Taylor, my executive host, was friendly and provided excellent customer service. Communication with him is always easy and his response is rapid. I appreciate him for setting a good tone on what I would get from Red Hawk.
Valet parking for the hotel is separate from the casino's main valet parking. This moves things along quicker than most casinos resort I've visited. From valet to front desk - the hotel check in and check out process is smooth and stress free. The room was clean and even the lobby is beautiful aesthetically decorated. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and you can't beat the view from my room. Highly recommended for those looking for a resort stay in the area or just want to get out of Sacramento. I didn't take advantage of the pool, gym or hot tub, but I will next time.

This place is a family favorite! I love that they have an area for the kids to be entertained while the adults are having their own fun! I always tell people I never win, but then I went to red hawk and won $10k on the slots! Fun environment, clean atmosphere, and the staff is attentive and so friendly! I will be back!

So Red Hawk now has a gorgeous hotel. The rooms are very comfy and we had a nice view of the mountains with snow.

The staff is very friendly. I lost a lot but had fun. Hope next time, I can win a little. The only thing I don't like is because it is so high, the floor moves in the casino. Makes you feel like there is an earthquake.

The casino is clean, cool and well taken care of. I think hubby and I might have to come back a few time to see how we like it.

All in all, I would give it a thumbs up so far!

This place is doing it right. The hotel is top notch. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. We had an amazing view of the rolling countryside around the casino. Large shower and the bed was amazing. Clean as heck too.

I'm not a huge casino guy but it was easy to get around and play the slots. I really like their air conditioning/filter system. Smoke was extremely minimal and you could feel cool air wherever you went. Plenty of non-smoking areas.

Bowling alley looks phenomenal. We ate at the buffet and it was off the hook good. Friendly service and the food was upper level. I was really impressed.

Hotel is pricey and I will look to see if they have deals during the week.

Red Hawk Casino isn't as new or shiny as their other Northern California casinos competitors, but it has great personality. They offer a great variety of table games and have a ton of slot machines. The dealers are personable and welcoming. And the table limits are consistently lower than other casinos.

The Apex Entertainment area showcases: Go Karting (2-floors with neon lighting), bowling, VR arcade games, and golfing. There's also a casual "grill" for light snacks and a sports bar (360 degrees of sports games on TV screens). And, a bunch of slot machines.

They also have a kid area called Cyber Quest arcade which is separate from The Apex area. And, they have a child care area for children between 6 weeks and 12 years-old.

Finally, they recently opened a 156-room hotel on the premises - which likely broadened their customer-base.

While we've mainly only gambled and dined at Red Hawk, there's a little something for many people. I especially like the self-serve beverage dispensers so you can get a cup of coffee or a soda anytime you want.

We love Pearl Asian Cuisine and I've heard great things about their Koto Buffet and Henry's Steakhouse. So, those will be the next restaurants we'll try on future visits.
