Sunset 76 Auto Repair & Tire Center

This auto repair place is excellent! Instead of taking my Volvo to the dealership I decided to take my car to Sunset 76 Auto Repair shop on Noriega Street. It's close to where I work and live which made it even more convenient. Louie and his team of mechanics changed out my brakes and serviced my AC system in one day. The prices are super affordable and half the price they charge at the dealership. Most of all, the work is superior and the car runs great.

Hats off to Louie for being a honest businessman and wonderful mechanic!!!

This review is long overdue - my boyfriend and I have been taking both of our Honda Civics to Lou at Sunset 76 since 2019. We know it's hard to find a good and honest mechanic in the city and we are so glad we found Lou. Here are some benefits and examples of why you should take your car to Sunset 76:

- easy to schedule appointments, you can give them a call or schedule through their site
- very fair and reasonable pricing. I spend around $50 for an oil change which I think is good for SF.
- Lou and his team are fast and reliable, they always have the car ready the same day I bring it in.
- they will accept your car the night before if you need to work around your 9-5
- my last example of why Lou and his team are great is: I am not a car expert and could easily be taken advantage of at any other mechanic. But Lou has always been honest and is not trying to make a quick buck. Today, he could have easily talked me into getting all my break pads replaced, but instead talked me through what's going on in my car and saved me from a several hundred dollar expense that really wasn't needed.

So if your looking for a good mechanic I would highly recommend Sunset 76! Thanks Lou and the Sunset 76 team for the consistent great service!

I got one flat tire while the other three have another estimated 6-12 months of life. My dealer's service center quoted me $300 to change the one flat tire and $900 for all four. After some shopping around I chose Sunset 76 based on their quote of $160 for one or $550 for all four.
This was on Friday, and I got a 9am appointment for Saturday. I drove over at 9am sharp and asked if they thought I should get all four replaced. They first looked at the flat to determine whether it could be repaired, but it was too far gone to fix. After taking a look at each tire they told me it wasn't necessary yet to replace the other three and, when the time comes, they can sell me three new ones.
I decided to just get the flat replaced, and they said it would be about an hour. I went to a nearby coffee shop to get some work done and got the call that it was ready just over an hour later. When I got there the car was out front, ready to go, and they had even reassembled the mess of housing and storage compartments around the spare after they returned it to its spot. Professional and friendly service (and price) earned them my tire biz going forward.

My friend recommended this place to me. They're fast to respond and give you good quote as well. It's hard to find a place that won't scam you when you have little knowledge about car.

I gave them a call in regards to changing my parents Toyota Sienna tires. They let me know the cost and was able to order them and have them ready by the next day.

Service was quick and easy. Will be coming back in the future.

This repair shop has been our go to for years! They are honest, fair and do fantastic work. No up selling and will present you with different options based on costs. Louie is the best and he has a team that reflect it. Best shop in the City!

Been coming here for a couple years. Came in with a nail in my tire and they told me to piss off (not literally). You just lost a customer who lives a couple blocks away. It's all about how you say it.

I needed to get prepared for a big roadtrip and my normal mechanic was tied up today. He referred me to Sunset 76 -

I called them around 2:15 on a Saturday, asking if they had any availability for an oil change. Louis answered the phone and told me that they were a bit busy today, but, if I brought the car in by 3 pm that day, he would take care of me.

I quickly got my things together and arrived at Sunset 76 by 3 pm. Elias took care of me at the front desk and, about 30 minutes later, I received a phone-call that my car was ready!

I loved the attentiveness of the guys at the shop and will definitely be back again - thank you!
