Food is very delicious. As soon as stepped in there was great authentic Mexican vibes. Amazing customer service.

Taqueria La Cazuela is one of the better local spots for Mexican food in East Palo Alto. I've been here a few times already and have always enjoyed my experience here. The staff is very friendly and they work pretty quickly to complete your order. I liked all the dishes that I ordered so far which includes tacos, burritos, and enchiladas michoacanas de cecina. They were all priced reasonably and the portions are great.
My go-tos for tacos are carne asada and al pastor. They both had good flavor and weren't greasy (which I've experienced at a few other joints in the area). Whenever I order the burrito and michoacanas de cecina, I usually split it up into two meals because there's a lot! It's definitely tough to finish them in one sitting.
Also, when you dine-in or order take out, they always give you fresh chips and salsa (which has the right kick to it!). Definitely give Taqueria La Cazuela a chance if you're in the area!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Aug 13, 2021
I was really intrigued by the reviews on Yelp so we decided to give this place a try because we were really craving some super burritos. It's a hole in the wall on the East Side of Palo Alto with its own little private parking lot.
We got the carne asada super burritos and I was really excited to take a bite but when I did I was honestly underwhelmed. There was not a lot of flavor and the tortillas and the carne were really dry. We also had asked for super burritos which should include guacamole but there was none in there. That was a bummer because I was at least looking forward to that. It was also not even spicy when we asked for spicy. I think their other stuff might be better but the burritos this time were definitely a miss.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Soo C.CA, CA03Nov 10, 2023

This place is solid.
I ordered the asada super burrito. I believe it comes with steak, rice, beans, guac, and cheese. The first time I ordered it I wasn't too impressed. I found the burrito kind of dry.
However, the second time around, I was requested that the beans be substituted for refried beans which they were able to do. Honestly, made a world of difference.
The value and price point is good. $11.99 for a sizable burrito. They also include some tortilla chips as well in a separate brown bag. In addition to substituting the beans, I would also recommend requesting for additional salsa if taking the food to go. The salsa containers are the size of gum drops.
Overall, they are doling out tasty & affordable food. Parking is also easy, as they have their own designated lot. Will continue to frequent this place when in the neighborhoodHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jasper L.Berkeley, CA3932457Jul 6, 2022
Our favorite taqueria, hands down. Food is amazing and the service is always super friendly. This restaurant feels like they're really part of the community, and they will feature artwork by local artists in their store from time to time.
Their carnitas and carne asada are excellent. We typically get their super nachos and a mix of tacos. Fish and shrimp tacos are great as well. They have really good salsa and chips that they give complimentary to every meal.
We only wish they were open later so we could go more LOL.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria S.Hayward, CA14228Sep 1, 2023
East Palo Alto is lucky to have this delicious gem. Everything was so yummy - from the chips and salsa, to the birria tacos and burritos. Come here once and you'll be locked in for life (like me).

Love Love Love this spot. Everything I've eat here has been good , from the tacos, burtito's to the delicous soups.
The cherry on top is the incredibly friendly service. Highly recommend this place to people who are in Palo Alto/Stanford area.
Small parking lot but parking can be found around the corner. Have also called in orders here numerous times.
If you like my reviews, consider "following" my profile for reviews all across the SF Bay Area . Why "follow" someone? It causes the person you follow's reviews to tier to top when you pull up a business. I find this very handy when researching venues.
Rod's Review grading scale explained. Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role obviously but there are $ and $$$$ littered across my grading scale.
5 stars - "I'll go out of my way" (approx 6 % of my reviews) 4 stars- "If I was in the area I'd go here and would recommend", (approx 38% of my reviews) 3 stars "Maybe if was nearby", (approx 37% of my reviews) 2 stars -"Would likely not return, Only if you want to go", (approx 16% of my reviews) 1 star -"No thanks, even if I was hungry", (approx. 3 % of my reviews)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Aug 31, 2020
TLC came highly recommended by one of my BFFs, so I had really high hopes. She said they usually order the caldo de res as well as the flautas. I didn't order either so maybe that was the disconnect...
Intrigued by the photos on Yelp, we ordered the enchiladas de Michoacanes con cecina. Both of us have never had this before and the bf was intrigued with the sliced potatoes. The cecina, according to Wikipedia is "meat that has been salted and dried by means of air, sun or smoke", is like a crispy, crunchy beef jerky. Although interesting, new to us, and different, we thought the overall entree was bland and meh.
We also ordered something we were more familiar with: the carne asada super burrito. So sad, I was far from wowed by this one. I thought maybe it was because I hadn't asked for my usual limes to douse it with. The next day, I was hopeful that the flavors had melded more and I ate the other half with a generous sprinkle of lime. No such luck.
The ladies here are super nice and hooked it up with both the regular and hot salsas to try. Beware: The hot is indeed hot!
Due to COVID restrictions, they have outside patio dining available as well as to-go right now.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 15Oh no 0 - Aug 16, 2020
This is a nice little gem in East PA, even for vegans / vegetarians. Had bookmarked it for a while and finally got a chance to try it. The lady who took the order ( not sure if she was the owner ) was a vegetarian herself and so understood the dietary restrictions of a vegan / vegetarian diet i.e. no use of meat products. Which is a relief as it makes ordering very easy.
I got a vegan burrito and vegan enchilada verde . The enchiladas were filled with potatoes for the vegan option. They also had an option for vegan / vegetarian , tacos and chimichanga as well.
They were following strict guidelines required per COVID-19 situation.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
