We moved from Chapel Hill to Boston and had a wonderful, seamless experience. I heard of so many horror stories of moving companies especially with interstate moves. But when we met Brad for our walk-through/quote, our concerns were put at rest. He was detailed, honest, and it was evident that he had a lot of experience. Overall, everyone in the company was responsive and easy to work with. Our moving team leader was James who was great to work with. He and his team helped us pack our "breakables" even in the midst of a tropical storm. Overall, the team was efficient, hard-working, and happy. They loaded everything on a Friday and arrived the following Tuesday. (They do not work on the weekends fyi.) To our knowledge, nothing was broken! Moving is so hard, but they made it as seamless as possible. We would highly recommend them!

My move was organized so well by everyone involved at Truckin. Every mover was so kind and hardworking. They took great care of all of my belongings and everything arrived in great shape. I have moved quite a few times in the past and moving day is usually a pretty stressful day for me but I noticed that Truckin made this day incredibly stress-free for me and was the smoothest moving day I've ever had. I was nervous because this was one of the bigger out of state moves I have done but it ended up being the easiest process because of Truckin. They are very thorough and organized.

      Updated review

This is an update for a previous review -- we have now used Truckin' Movers on three separate occasions and cannot say enough good things about how easy our moving process was each time. We utilized some of their packing services and felt that all our items were packed with care and arrived at our destinations exactly as intended each time. We also had items (furniture and boxed items) in storage for over a year with absolutely no issues. Crew members are extremely friendly and helpful. We are grateful to have worked with such a fantastic and responsive company from start to finish!

Just did a short move from Durham to Chapel Hill with Truckin' Movers. The move was fast, well done and they responded to our requests for special services like keeping the moving van on the street to protect our concrete driveway.

I have moved twice in the last 4 months. The first time, I used a different company and the 2nd time, I used Truckin' Movers. I was disappointed in the first company so opted to find a different company the second time. The team of 4 at Truckin' Movers were fantastic! We had belongings in 3 places that required picking up and moving into our new house. They were timely and efficient. They were very careful with all of our belongings. They were also respectful of COVID guidelines. I would highly recommend them and would use them again if we were to ever move again. I have already recommended them to someone I know who is moving. Also, the price was right!

I had a great experience with Truckin' Movers. Unable to return to my apartment in the midst of a pandemic, Brad FaceTimed with me. We went drawer by drawer, room by room, sorting out what I needed to have transported from my apartment in Chapel Hill to my family's home in Miami. They kept to their promised timeline, taking care of the entire moving process for us. These are unusual times and unusual circumstances, so I was very happy with the time Brad and the team took with us. All of my belongings arrived undamaged and perfectly packed!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Truckin Movers. I recently moved from Raleigh to Denver, Colorado and this company made the cross country move as easy as it gets.

I was in an unique position where I had rented a trailer via uPack but needed help actually loading my possessions into the 13ft I was allotted in the trailer. I worked with Nick initially who quoted me a price that was ~200 less than what uPack's movers wanted -- for the same amount of time and movers. Nick was insanely helpful throughout the entire process and called the day before the movers arrived and chatted for ~10-20 min to walk me through the process, what the movers would need in terms of packing supplies (which Truckin movers would provide themselves if I did not have), and answered any last minute questions.

On the day of the move, I received a call from Brad confirming his men were on their way. He also said that he was sending his best crew in order to try and pack all of my stuff in less than 13ft, as I would be refunded any space not used by uPack.

BOY DID HE DELIVER ON THIS PROMISE.

My moving team consisted of Alfredo, Alfonso, and Milton and these guys SLAYED. Alfredo walked through the house with me to see what needed to go and reviewed what I wanted covered with some extra protection. Additionally, throughout the actual moving process, Alonso and Milton would come up to me to point out any nicks or issues with the furniture to make sure I was aware it was a pre-existing condition and not due to the move.

These guys got my 3 bedroom house, dining room, living room, and deck packed up in a little over 3 hours AND Alfredo managed to pack everything so perfectly we only used 9 feet of the trailer -- seriously this guy saved me nearly 500 bucks!!

Alfonso was INSANELY helpful as well as he disassembled my furniture to ensure there was no breakage in the truck. As he was doing this, he would call me over to ensure I understood how he was taking things apart and to highlight where he had packaged up all screws and other assembly materials.

As they were wrapping up, Milton even swept up my bare living room as they had tracked in some dead grass from coming in and out -- a completely unnecessary act but such a professional touch.

Seriously -- if you are looking for movers (especially if you are trying to fit a ridiculous amount of stuff into a small space) this company is THE way to go -- and make sure to ask for the magic man himself, Alfredo!

I was moving my family from a high rise condo and nearby storage unit in downtown Chicago to Cary, NC with a one month stay in storage before completing the move.

The team I worked with (Brad, Rob, and Chad) was fantastic from start to finish.

This was a complicated move and my family had little time to plan and pack ourselves. I was looking for someone to come and move and partial pack my condo as well as contents of a storage unit, then put everything into storage, until we could move into our new home a month later.

Brad was very helpful in assessing the move and helping me think through move dates and logistics. He was also very reassuring that his team could handle the move from coordinating with our condo requirements and storage, as well as delivering on dates we agreed upon. I trusted him implicitly from the start and was not disappointed.

The moving team was courteous, respectful and careful. They didn't hustle but took the time they needed to do the job WELL! The packing of my kitchen was meticulous. Really! I was very impressed when unpacking a month later. Not a single item was damaged or broken through the entire move. They also seemed respectful of my overall home, cleaning after themselves and generally being thoughtful.

Finally, they were dead on with their estimate and the final cost. No surprises which I appreciated. They were not the cheapest estimate that I was confident that they would deliver and they did. I was so impressed by how well it went that I have recommended Truckin to a friend making a similar move.

Moving sucks - these guys make it as easy as you can hope for. Only suggestion would be to let them pack. The boxes they packed fared beautifully in the move. Some of the boxes we over/under packed ourselves with flimsy taping looked a bit tried. If you can afford it, leave it to them!

I had a great experience with Truckin' Movers. I had a local move and the movers were on time, responsible and professional. They got a large futon frame through a tricky winding staircase and handled all the details so I didn't have to.

I would definitely recommend them without reservations!

We normally use TROSA for moves, but our house-hunting process went much more quickly than expected, and they were booked up for weeks after our desired move date. Instead, we contacted Truckin. Never again.

I had no problem getting someone in for an estimate. During the walkthrough, I pointed out some items that we didn't want to keep, and Nick indicated that they could haul them away for an extra fee. We were on a bit of a tight schedule due to closing dates and my husband's scheduled vacation time, and I had to keep calling Truckin to get any kind of information, first to get the estimate, then to nail down a move date. I got the contract paperwork via email and mailed it back with a deposit check. Then there was radio silence for weeks until the morning of the move, when I got a call that they would be 30 minutes late. In the meantime, I read some online reviews which complained that they aggressively try to have negative reviews removed, so I'm curious to see what happens with this one.

The first indication of weirdness was when the crew arrived with a young boy aged maybe 9-10, who was apparently the son of one crew member and the brother of another. I understand that childcare is often an issue in the summer, and I'm sympathetic when working parents just have nowhere for a child to go. However, the boy wandered around the house, poking around in closets, and then he started moving boxes with the crew. Bringing a little kid into a customer's house, ie a work site, is completely unprofessional and unsafe. My husband and I were not happy about this as it was a very clear violation of child labor laws, and we were afraid he might get hurt. We asked one of the crew members (who turned out to be the crew chief and the boy's father) to ask him to stop. He denied that the child was working (which was a flat-out lie, as he was steadily carrying book boxes to the truck, I photographed him doing so because we were in disbelief that this was happening, and the other crew members were openly chatting about how hard the kid was working). The boy did stop working after we brought this up. One crew member managed to completely destroy a particle board bookshelf while carrying it out, and another dropped a hard-sided plastic bin of very special glass Christmas ornaments upside down on the porch and broke them all.

Once at our new house, the crew put in a large gash in one of the walls. We had two captain's style beds that had to be reassembled (the crew had disassembled these at the old house) and we kept having to ask the crew to center the headboard correctly on one bed. After they left, we found that one drawer on our bed is no longer working correctly as the rails have been bent somehow. Later, when my son leaned back on his headboard while reading, the headboard popped off the frame because it had been screwed in badly by one of the crew members. We're still fixing that and hope the wood wasn't permanently damaged by the random new screw holes.

The moving crew took short breaks, but I never saw them get a lunch break, which I think was ridiculous considering the extreme heat. We provided water and Gatorade for the crew at both locations, but the company should be providing food and water for their crews, particularly during Code Orange heat days.

Nick had indicated during the estimate visit that the items we wanted to dump would be fine and would just require an extra dumping fee (which was fine). No indication was made that we would need to call the office to make special arrangements for this. When the crew arrived and we pointed out the items to be hauled away, it was suddenly a big deal and required calls to the office. A simple pre-move check in call from the office could have taken care of this.

We've been moved by TROSA four times in the past 20 years, and have never had a broken item or damage to our home. And they've only sent adults!

In short, Truckin does not appear to be a professional organization, and I would strongly recommend choosing another moving company.
