I will use this company again for sure. The guy that came out to repair our dishwasher was very professional and very knowledgeable. His name was Slava but I could be wrong . He cleaned and unclogged it then ordered the new part. It works beautifully.

We had a sick refrigerator that stopped keeping food cold and as food went bad, it started to smell. We probably should have acted sooner, but we thought turning down the temperature was enough. It wasn't. After doing some research on Yelp I selected United Appliance Repair. I left a message and had a call back within 15 minutes. We scheduled the service call and we were given a two hour window. Derek showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He said the fan responsible for moving cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator wasn't working and needed to order a new one. He gave me a reasonable estimate (especially considering the cost and hassle of getting a new one) and arranged a return trip with the new part before leaving. He returned at exactly the time he'd given (and remembered to not ring the doorbell which upsets our dog). He was finished within 20 minutes and after accepting payment and reminding me of the warranty left. My appreciation goes to Derek, who cheerfully and accurately diagnosed and repaired our fridge, and to Jenny who kept track of of both appointments. Yay!

The technician took several hours to diagnose a problem with our oven. I asked him to also pull out our dishwasher since there was a bad smell that I thought might have been a dead animal :( He has me pay him $100 cash on top of the fee for the oven. I agreed for some reason. Should have been a red flag.
He tested the dishwasher to ensure it was working, (it was) pulled the dishwasher out from under the counter and we removed the remains of a dead rat from the bottom (Ew.)
After he leaves, we try to run the dishwasher but it is broken and won't light up. We call him again and he says the rat must have chewed through the wires...even though it was working five minutes before he pulled it out. We called him to fix it and came back but did not fix it and the oven is still broken.

I hate to leave negative reviews, but my experience with United Appliance Repair warrants one. I'll begin by posting my email exchange with United Appliance Repair, which began on Monday, 10/21/19, after I requested a washer/dryer installation.

Me (10/21/19, 8:43 PM): Thank you for the quick response. After 12 PM on Friday works perfectly. The address, if I did not include it originally, is 123 XYZ in Alameda.
The washer and dryer are side-by-side units. The washer is an LG WM2688HNMA, and the dryer is an LG DLGX8388NM.
Can you please send an estimate for the installation?

The timestamps of UAR's responses show that they are clearly very responsive. Yet at no point during the week did anyone from UAR correct what sure seems to be the reasonable interpretation that when I said "After 12 PM on Friday works perfectly" and "I look forward to seeing you on Friday," I understood us to have an appointment scheduled for Friday. It's particularly frustrating that this work was scheduled for a weekday and I made sure that I was home from work that afternoon. Awesome experience with United Appliance Repair. Used Yelp's request a quote I got 3 quotes, went with United Appliance, oven was fixed, they did a great job on the diagnosis. Happy with the service. Three months warranty is a peace of mind. The folks at United Appliance has been super responsive and bringing their A game. Would recommend!

Complete waste of time. If you want a job done do NOT use them.
I submitted a picture of our dryer along with the model # (per Lyu's instructions) and requested someone to come out and replace the broken gasket (visible in the picture). Lyu then scheduled me, and David showed up to inspect the unit with NO PARTS on hand. UNACCEPTABLE and total WASTE OF TIME. I contacted United Appliance Repair (via Thumbtack) because our fridge was no longer cooling. Sergey was quick to respond and provided two potential reasons for the error code we were seeing (either the fan was not working or the control board was broken). He ordered both parts and scheduled a time for the technician, Ryan, to come out. Right at the start of the window, Ryan knocked on the door and got to work opening up the fridge. He replaced the fan first, but unfortunately that did not resolve the issue. He then replaced the control board and everything worked as it should have. Ryan was quite knowledgeable and able to perform both replacements within 1.5 hours.
The amount they quoted for the repair is what they billed. (They did not charge for the fan since it was the control board that was the issue.) They are honest, fair priced, reliable and friendly.
