Q:
Do the veggie dumplings contain onion/garlic?
A:
Unfortunately, the zucchini one does contain green onions and if you are concerned with green onion/garlic cross-reactivity, I believe seen as a previous interaction with one of our customers that asked this question before; chives also pertains to… more

Is this YuanBao Jiaozi related to the restaurant with the same name in SF? They have different websites but it's confusing that the names are exactly the same, down to the YuanBao words spelled together.
A:
We are the same restaurant with almost the same menu but offers more items. Same family owners :). The website is different because this new one was setup by someone professional, the one in SF wasn’t setup by us.

Dumplings and noodles were tasty. Lots of parking in the shopping center so easy to access. we got there around 5:30 on Saturday and were able to get seated right away, but by the time we left there was a wait, so plan accordingly! Service was prompt, you can order with the QR code, but the waitress was happy to take our order as well. They even checked on us a couple of times and refilled our teapot!

Absolutely delicious, fresh and full of flavor. I wish we had something like this back in Hawaii with these prices too!
I have gone to the SF branch then I found out there was one in millbrae!! They offer different things as well as the same dishes.
This place is bigger and less packed than the SF one. The people are all friendly and the tables are big and spacious.
The food is impeccable as always and I just realized this is one of my favorite places to eat dumplings or soups.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 7, 20242 check-ins
I was excited to see a new location for Yuanbao Jiaozi! Compared to the one in SF, this one is so much more spacious and I also feel like this one has more variety!
We tried a couple of our favorites like the beef noodle soup and potato salad as well as some new plates like the beef/lamb/fish dumplings and the beef XLB. Everything was pretty tasty!
We ordered 11 dishes for 7 people and it was just enough without any leftovers.Helpful 6Thanks 4Love this 8Oh no 0 - Jackie L.San Jose, CA1052089Aug 25, 2024
Absolutely loved this place. No wait for a table of 4 on Friday for dinner.
Order through the QR code or through the server. Food came out quickly and the XLB was delicious, especially the crab roe. Highly recommend it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 12, 20241 check-in

Yay dumplings in the Peninsula! Probably a 4.5
So they're probably known for their dumplings and beef noodle soup. I've only been twice, mostly because I don't speak Chinese so I'm intimidated by these places - but they can speak English and are very friendly so now I'm happy to go :)
The ordering is done via your phone and a QR code, though there is a physical menu available too.
Last time, I got the beef noodle soup which was pretty good, but I think you need another dish to feel full. So this time, we were both kind of hungry and opted for just potstickers, dumplings, and noodles to see if that would be more filling.
They were - the potstickers and dumplings were delicious - I think we got chicken and corn + chicken and mushroom. I know the mushroom fish one has a lot of good reviews, but I generally don't like fish :( But if you do, you should probably get that one.
I think next time, we're going to get potstickers and then a soup to dip in for the flavor+fullness combination :)
(Also the noodles are delicious - I'd only wish there was a bit more as it's easily finished by one person, and the price point is a little high for that. But it's still very good.)
Thanks again YBJ! Looking forward to next time :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 4, 2024
This place surprised me because is in the middle of a more run down strip mall. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean, well lit, and nicely decorated. We were seated right away around 11:30am on a Wednesday. We ordered via phone and QR code. Good came out in less than 20 minutes. Everything tasted awesome. We ate some Pork XLB and while it isn't like Din Tai Fung the pork is flavorful. The woodear salad is so tasty and the dumplings in chili oil were perfect. If you like bold flavor and food more on the spicy side then this place is for you.

"I like this place a lot!" I tell my cousin. She laughs and says, "you like all the places you've been to in the last few days!" It's true, I haven't found a place I haven't liked yet as I continue my search for the best dumplings in the bay area. But, I REALLY like THIS place. Lol.
Yuanbao Jiaozi is a casual, rather new, neighborhood place in a strip mall with tons of convenient and free parking...the first two reasons I really like it. It's convenient and easily accessible.
The more important reason I like it is the food. Comfort Taiwanese cuisine. Delicious dumplings: jiaozi, xiaolingbao, potstickers. And just as delicious side dishes. My favorite being the shredded tofu skin seasoned with chili and sesame oil. Have yet to try everything. Will sure to be back to work my way through that menu !
And a bonus reason to like this place, they carry one of my favorite non-alcoholic drinks the Chi Forest brand: lychee soda, white peach, and grape!
Thanks SF Yelper Mike C for putting this place on the map for me! Thank you Anthony and Elaine for the delicious dinner and even better company!Helpful 9Thanks 3Love this 17Oh no 0 - Jul 25, 2024
Located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Large interior with plenty of seating and a see-through window into the kitchen where you can see them making the food. You order through a QR code on your phone. Our orders came out quickly and service was friendly and attentive!
- Pickled cabbage spicy beef noodle soup was very flavorful, decently spicy with lots of chili oil on top. Noodles were chewy consistency. Plenty of beef chunks.
- Pork, shrimp, chive and egg dumplings (regular) were very good, with a little soup still inside. I loved the dumpling skin because it was super chewy and slightly thick! Would highly recommend!
- I don't personally like tendon so I can't attest to it, but my boyfriend really liked their spicy beef tendon
Generous portion for price point, good flavors, overall great service and seating. Highly recommend!Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 24, 2024
If you're heading to the airport to pick someone up, leave early and treat yourself for being such a great friend. Stop by for a quick dumpling meal at Yuanbao. Service is fast and efficient, and the airport is just an exit away.
