Q:
Does the meatloaf and gravy have pork in it?
A:
Thats a good question, years ago many people cooked using lard(pork fat)- the best for making fried food- many still use, Tori is friendly and many patrons do not eat pork, for different reasons.
Jimmy L.Q:
Dang people if you are ever open after 6 i will for sure come out here for dinner but i can't get the kids corralled before then :/ please let me know if your hours change ok?
A:
Maybe you should get those kids in order If its somewhere you wanna go....corral those kids

This place was cool and suggested by my wife who was feeling for bbq. The place was cozy and rustic / the food was so so if you ask me. My wife loved it for some reason.
Pretty sure the mac and cheese gave me the runs tho.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Pate B.CA, États-Unis11216 mai 2024
God Bless Tori and her fine establishment, I have brought all my favorite people to eat at this place to eat some good old Soul food, love the hot water buttered cornbread, what a very unique and great side to any of the meals provided and served. Will definitely come back with more family members. Ordering ahead of time is also great if you don't like the wait.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but trust me when I say u can taste the love put in this food. We had the smothered pork chops with gravy on the side. Their hot waster cornbread was tasty! The foot long prom hot link was cooked just like I like it ! Toasted bun and a smidge of BBQ sauce was just an added touch. Want some good soul food stop by and grab you some!

Finally had Tori's food. The gumbo was amazing along with the black-eyed peas. Second best were the green beans and greens. Chicken wasn't bad but tasted somewhat off, the corn bread so tasty but a bit greasy. I can't wait to go back to try the other items.

Food was fantastic but I would come back just for the hospitality alone! Tori's is a gem hidden in the hood and Tori herself is just the sweetest lady you'll ever meet! Her customer service and hospitality made you feel like you was actually in the south!
We ordered a lot of everything, let's start off with that mighty delicious fried chicken. It was just perfect super crispy crunchy on the outside and very well seasoned and juicy on the inside! Must have!
The fried catfish was really tasty and not greasy at all can't go wrong with it!
The fried pork chops was something new to me I would think pork would be dried out but no, it was real tender and still moist!
The gumbo stole the show that thing was packed with meats and flavor. It was love at first bite!
All of the sides were excellent, we got the candied yams, collard greens and Mac n cheese. I recommend getting them all!
Buttered hot water corn bread, I'll let you order it and find out for yourself!!
Best way to taste everything is come with a few friends order 4-5 different dishes and share everything! It's the best way to taste everything!
5 solid stars for Tori's!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Mo F.Sacramento, États-Unis261717 mai 2023
What an unbelievable great place I've been missing out for years, I often complain about restaurants not putting any love and pride on their food, but Tori's blew me away, even my kids loved it, you can taste so much love even on the dishes sides, I'm only sorry I missed it out for so many years
Needless to add the prices aren't crazily inflated like most restaurantsHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shante K.Sacramento, États-Unis014718 juin 2023
This place always hits right where you need it to with full on flavor, generous portions, affordable prices and fun ambiance for a date night or family gathering.
Enjoyed being here again to celebrate Fathers Day with a down home, old fashioned southern meal done to perfection!
Thanks Tori and Family for coming through and showing that you don't have to skimp on food or service to stay relevant in business.
Much love and many blessings to you now and always.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Uhmayzing G.Stockton, États-Unis1519 juil. 2023
Tori's Place has great soul food. She is also sooo sweet! The prices are reasonable and portions are
adequate as well. The hot water cornbread alone is to keep you coming back but everything is good. My family usually gets the fried chicken, Mac & cheese , yams, potato salad... all taste great. Go to spot for great soul food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vicky M.Sacramento, États-Unis029811 nov. 2023
My family and I were craving fried chicken, gumbo, and corn bread, so we really wanted to like Tori's after seeing the reviews. While the gumbo was good & the sides we got (Mac n' Cheese, blacked eyed peas, corn bread) were ok, we found the fried chicken to be somewhat lackluster. We ordered around 5-6 pm but the chicken was not as flavorful as expected and the skin was oily. Will maybe come back for the gumbo but uncertain about trying the other dishes again.

This place has some of the best Gumbo we've ever had! The sides are yummy too. Gumbo comes with one side (the family Gumbo to go doesn't come with any sides, you have to order them separately). The Gumbo is full of chicken, yummy sausage and some shrimp, with rice, peppers, celery and more things to add to the yummy factor. Sides include terrific mac and cheese, black-eyed peas (with peppers and onions), collard greens, yams, pinto beans and the best corn bread (like good ole fashioned hoe cakes) you may have ever had.
The place doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside. You'll be tempted to drive right past it. But don't. Stop, park and walk into a eclectic, homey, front porch/patio with an order window serving really, REALLY good old fashioned Southern cooking.
If you can save room for dessert, your tummy will thank you. They have clearly homemade peach cobbler and banana pudding.
The people are friendly and know their stuff. Yes, you will wait a little while for your food if you didn't call any order in ahead of time. But it is worth every minute. Sit back. Enjoy the music. Strike up a conversation with the people you are sitting by (if they are waiting too) and prepare to fill your tummy with flavor!!
This was our first visit, but we intend to return and try other offerings, like the Pork Chop with gravy, the fried chicken and the red snapper. But I am sure that the Gumbo will keep calling my name too. Decisions, decisions. It's a great problem to have.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
