Miki’s 4-star review:
This is a cute place perfect for grabbing coffee, lunch, or that weekend brunch without breaking the bank. It gets very crowded in the weekends with a line going out the door. But if the weather is perfect, you can grab a table in their outdoor seating area to chat it up with friends or catch up on a good read. If you need reading materials, there is a quaint bookshop in the back.
The food, coffee, and teas are excellent. I would recommend trying their bakery goods and apple & brie. Like Chris B's review below, the red velvet cake is awesome! Omelettes are good, but there have been occasions when they have been as impressive (usually when the cafe is super busy).
Parking isn't too bad here compared to 3rd street and Melrose area. They also recently added valet parking in the front. As for the crowd, I haven't seen too many pretentious people around, just a bunch of cool artsy folks (usually writers and production people in the biz). This is definitely not your typical Starbuck's.
Overall, great food, great coffee, and great people-watching.
