Great weekend reading by Institutional Investor: 'Allocators can help build an inclusive system of capitalism, argue the CEOs of the California Endowment, Weingart Foundation, and California Wellness.' We are looking forward to hearing from Amy Chung, Managing Director, Impact Investing at The California Endowment, and Katie Twomey, MBA, Senior Vice President, Illumen Capital at our Impact Investing Symposium in NYC on Oct 1. Amy manages The California Endowment’s Impact Investing portfolio. In November 2023, The Endowment’s board of directors committed to aligning all of its assets with its mission and vision, and The Endowment is currently in the process of implementing this decision. During her tenure at The Endowment, Amy has managed a $350 million allocation for Program-Related and Mission-Related Investments. Katie spearheads the operations and compliance of the Illumen portfolio whose firms reached gender parity with 50% women and 50% men across their full teams, and the team has doubled the number of women partners and four times the number of underrepresented partners of color compared to industry benchmarks. 🎫 Secure your general registration tickets today: https://iis.100women.org 🔦 Interested in sponsorship, speaking opportunities, or connecting with our team? On Wednesday, 14 August, 100 Women In Finance Australia hosted a US Elections fireside chat with Libby Cantrill, CFA, PIMCO’s Head of US Public Policy, moderated by Cindy Ponder-Budd, Head of Investment Strategy at CareSuper. Topics ranged from the upcoming election dynamics, the battleground states and the potential fiscal policy and tariffs that we can expect going forward. Libby also shared her career journey, spanning Wall Street, Washington and investment management, encouraging women to let go of their imposter syndrome and to “fake it till you make it”. Whilst Libby said that senior women had a duty to mentor and sponsor younger women, she also highlighted that younger women need to drive those relationships and show up prepared. The event was closed by Amber Morgan from Northern Trust, a participant in 100WF Elevating Women’s Voices Program, designed to get more women to speak to and on behalf of the finance industry. Thank you to PIMCO for hosting such a lively and timely discussion.
