AECI Plant Health launched a depot in Keimoes, in the Northern Cape, at the OranjeRivier Oesbeskerming (OROB) Agrihub this month. Growers also gained knowledge from a valuable information day, which included insights from various stakeholders. The OROB agricultural service is a partnership that specialises in the handling of agricultural chemicals, fertilisers and other farming products, as well as provides technical support for crop and soil health. The partnership has been supporting farmers with products and knowledge over the past 20 years, during which time OROB has learned that employing proven farming methods is a good start to ensuring the successful application of agricultural chemicals and fertilisers. Through our new depot, farmers in the Keimoes area can more easily access our range of products geared towards unlocking natures potential to optimise plant and soil health. We know that partnering with the correct people and entities has a lot to do with ensuring the prosperity and sustainability of South Africa’s agriculture industry. #AECIPlantHealth #Keimos #NorthernCape #sustainblefarming #soilhealth #healthycrops #OROB

We understand the importance of sharing knowledge with growers to ensure a sustainable agriculture industry in South Africa. AECI Plant Health hosted a Table Grape Cultivation Course in Paarl from August 6 to 8 in collaboration with the South African Table Grape Industry (SATI). Held at the AECI depot in Paarl, the course provided attendees with vital information presented by SATI training manager Eunice Avenant and independant viticulture researcher Jan Avenant. The programme provided industry insight and covered topics such as the climate requirements needed to cultivate table grapes, spring and summer practices linked with vine phenology and physiology, and the economically important pests and diseases in the table grape industry. #AECIPlantHealth #SATI #tablegrapes #training #sustainablefarming

AECI Plant Health wishes all women working in the local agriculture industry a happy Women's Day! The socioeconomic empowerment of women is fundamentally about empowering society as a whole, said Minister for Women, Youth and Persons With Disabilities Sindisiwe Chikunga in a media briefing on August 1. On July 23, President Cyril Ramaphosa signed into law the Public Procurement Bill, legislation that will regulate public procurement, including preferential procurement, by all organs of state. "Through advocacy and mainstreaming, we will ensure that the plight of women in business, government, farm workers, mining and among the unemployed receives the same level of attention and resources," commented Chikunga. AECI Plant Health salutes the women dedicated to the agriculture industry and is ready to provide them with the support they need to reach their farming goals in a sustainable manner. #AECIPlantHealth #enhancingnaturespotential #WomensDay2024 #femalefarmers

Join AECI Plant Health, along with a greater number of exhibitors, in September at this year’s fifth NAMPO Cape Agricultural Expo, themed Agriculture: The backbone of economic growth. To meet the demand for additional exhibition space, 38 additional 15 m x 20 m exhibition stands have been added next to the trial plots on site. Hosted by Grain SA and Bredasdorp Park NPC from September 11 to 14 at Bredasdorp Park, in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, NAMPO Cape plays an important role in rural development and the promotion of social growth, says Grain SA NAMPO marketing and research coordination head Dr Dirk Strydom. "The importance of agriculture extends beyond mere production. By empowering producers with modern tools and knowledge, we can boost productivity and income, leading to a more vibrant and robust agricultural sector. In addition, agriculture's integration with other sectors, such as renewable energy and biotechnology, opens new avenues for economic diversification and innovation,” he highlights. Find our knowledgeable staff in the Total Energies Hall at stands 10 and 11! We have the products and services you need to ensure a sustainable farming future that enables socioeconomic development.
