Chief Financial Officer Purpose: Reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO plays a crucial role in providing executive advisory support to the CEO on strategic financial matters. The CFO oversees the execution of strategic financial objectives across various functions including finance operations, membership, actuarial services, and facilities management. Qualifications and Experience Required: Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (SA). Experience: Minimum 10 years at the CFO level in a public company, preferably within the insurance sector with some actuarial-related experience. Preferred Skills: Experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance (valuations, disposals), and capital management. Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required: Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Acts such as COIDA, Companies Act, VAT Act, Income Tax Act, BBBEE, POPI, SAM, and King IV. Insurance Expertise: Knowledge of long and short-term insurance acts. Financial Reporting: Proficiency in IFRS and understanding of financial policies, procedures, and legal compliance. Leadership Skills: Strategic leadership, ability in strategic thinking and planning, vision creation and selling, judgment and decision-making, complex problem-solving, and persuasion and influencing. Financial Acumen: Strong commercial orientation and financial analytical skills. Communication: Excellent communication skills with an assertive personality to effectively engage stakeholders. Key Areas of Responsibility: Stakeholder Relationship Management: Provide advisory support to the Board, CEO, and Executive Committee on strategic financial matters. Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and act as a key liaison for audit matters. Collaborate with asset managers on investment strategies. Financial and Regulatory Reporting: Oversee financial administration and reporting in compliance with best practices and accounting principles. Manage monthly accounts, conduct forecasts, and oversee annual budget and strategic plan forecasts. Ensure production of annual integrated reports and financial statements. Drive adoption of technology for enhanced reporting and analytics. Business Optimization and Regulatory Compliance: Maintain optimal funding levels and manage cash flow effectively. Proactively manage financial risks and oversee BEE and transformation initiatives. People Management and Leadership: Lead Finance, Procurement, Internal Audit, and Facilities departments.

Professional Certifications: CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) preferred. Regulatory: FAIS regulatory exams (RE 1 and RE 5) or ability to obtain them within six months of employment. Required Experience: Minimum 10 years of institutional investment and asset management experience. At least 5 years in senior management within a reputable investment or asset management firm. Experience leading investment teams or divisions in a complex investment environment. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful investment strategies.
