FULL CIRCLE MOMENT, courage authenticity got me there💕 I have had many aspirations in my life, some that I strongly believed were attainable, and some that I thought, maybe one day, and being featured at a Forbes conference or in a Forbes magazine was one of the least likely yet desired ones... WHAT YOU MAY KNOW BY NOW: Yes! I got to speak at the Forbes stage, and had my story used as the anchor for the Forbes 30 under 30 magazine, and that was amazing. WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW: It was not my business acumen, my accolades or qualifications that got me to share the stage with these great people, It was the authentic and rawness with I shared a deeply personal , yet inspiring portion of my life that got me there. I was willing to open up about things that people go through and are never willing to talk about in the fear of being stigmatized or shamed, and I did it with pride. MY REASON FOR DOING SO: I knew that in the room of that size, there would be at least 1 person who needed to hear about it so they could feel human again, and not feel like something was totally wrong with them. THE RESULT: “ I was the only one of the spotlight speakers to get a standing ovation, in a room full of so much greatness!” MY INVITE TO YOU: To all of you who have a story to tell remember this Only tell what and when you are comfortable. Do not allow anyone to diminish or take way anything from your story Own your story with pride, it is yours you have overcome, you are a winner. Did you know that there is only "1", I mean ONE : -Diet plan that works -Exercise regime that works -Financial management plan that works... Wanna know which one it is ? 🔊 THE ONE THAT YOU STICK WITH!!! On our quest to success, we often find ourselves learning and unlearning things, trying a few different techniques or methods that have the potential to bring us closer to our goals, and we often forget the power of something very simple , yet hard to adopt and commit to: DISCIPLINE. As I reviewed my goals and targets for this year, which I do in 12 weeks blocks (ask me about it in DM if interested in the reason why), I realized that I would get to my results much faster if I was DISCIPLINED. So I came up with this simple definition of discipline for myself and my team GM Anchor Group & Le Rein Dialysis Services. Discipline is: "Doing the things that you have to do, ESPECIALLY when you don't feel like doing them". We now have it written in bold on the white boards in our offices, and no one is allowed to erase it, it is a line that is regular attendee of our weekly Monday strategy meetings, and it is something that has helped us grow tremendously over the past few months. Every time I catch myself looking for valid excuses not to do what I have to do, I now remind myself of this definition of discipline and quickly get myself back on track. Have you made a promise to yourself to do something consistently this season? If not, I invite you to make one commitment to yourself. And if yes, remember that you will have to do it consistently, especially when you don't feel like doing it.
