"GAME OVER!" is how Cécile Masson Henry from IBL Together kept the audience at The International Leaders in Loyalty Summit in Cape Town.....on the edge of our seats! Cecile described how wiiv Rewards' technical partner/vendor went bankrupt with hours of notice to rescue its database and customer loyalty profiles. She triggered crisis management and claims that transparency and frequency of communication save the day. Despite all this chaos, they only received 1% of negative sentiment feedback from members. IBL completely rebuilt its technical platform in-house to save wiiv Rewards.

The 2024 South African Loyalty Awards, designed specifically to celebrate loyalty brilliance and innovation, announced the winning loyalty brands on Wednesday 11th September at the Truth International Leaders in Loyalty Summit, in Cape Town. In total, there are 24 categories where entries have been evaluated through a robust judging process by a well-established judging committee, made up of 14 loyalty & CRM professionals from South Africa and across the globe. Truth's CEO, Amanda Cromhout CADipL™️ is the Judging Chair for the South African Loyalty Awards. The headline awards “best programme of the year” are awarded to major industry sector leaders across retail, financial services, restaurant/QSR, travel, fuel, telco and leisure programmes in their sector. The awards also announce “best partnership programme”, “best newcomer”, “best relaunched programme” and “best long-term programme”, the latter of which announces the overall best and most established programme in South Africa. The South African judging committee also honours individuals and loyalty team leadership. It was such a pleasure to hear a deep dive into co-brand cards from Rafael Martinez-Frausto from Mexico at Truth's International Leaders in Loyalty Summit in Cape Town. Rafa shared the evolution of co-brands from the traditional airline model and banking models to more innovative approaches. Typically, active co-brand card users are more likely to become ambassadors than just engaged loyalty members.
