Understanding risk in an evolving insurance landscape: advice for SA engineering and construction companies South Africa's engineering and construction sectors face unique risks such as climate-related hazards, unforeseen delays and theft. This is according to Jan-Hendrik Botha, Head of Underwriting at Western National Insurance. He says that to mitigate these risks, companies need a comprehensive insurance portfolio that includes Contractors' All Risks (CAR) policies. CAR policies cover sudden and unforeseen physical loss or damage to insured property, as well as damage to third parties.
