Florence Jedidiah Mulenga is the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Yango, a global tech company that offers mobility and delivery services digitally in Africa, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. She also sits on the Justina Mutale Foundation Board, an international NGO that has given young people access to over 50 university scholarships.

She is passionate about Implementing and advocating for sustainable projects that will have a geniune and lasting impact on local communities. Below are some of her achievements : 

1. Florence was invited by the UAE government to speak at the Youth Environmental Education Congress in Abu Dhabi on how we can improve Environmental Education globally (January 2024)

2. She was also invited to speak at The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai by Emirates Nature-WWF. She was asked to share her insights on how STEM innovations can help solve the Triple Planetary Crisis : Climate Change, Pollution and Biodiversity Loss (December, 2023) 

3. She worked for World Wide Fund For Nature, the biggest conservation NGO in the world as the Conservation Administrative Support where she acted as assistant to the Chief Conservation Officer and helped organize the implementation of the Youth Engagement Strategy aimed at empowering 1 million youths in conservation in Zambia by 2026 (February - December 2023) 

4. She served as Social Media Marketing (SMM) Specialist at Lupiya Financial Services, A fast growing Fintech startup that has managed to raise over $15 million dollars of investments over the years aimed at making access to finance easier for women through lending and investment opportunities. (December 2023 - March 2024)

5. She served as Project Manager for The Zambian National STEM Foundation where she designed projects in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme , FNB, WWF, Ministry of Green Economy and more. She designed the very first Girls in STEM against GBV Summit in Zambia and co- managed the 2nd All Africa STEM Awareness Conference in Botswana. ( June 2021 - November 2022) 

6. She was was invited to speak at the Women in Engineering Conference in Johannesburg (South Africa) by ITC on the role she has played in STEM Awareness amongst Women and Girls in Africa. (November 2022)  

7. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from The University of Zambia and has seven awards for a concept she developed in University of an anti- asthma body spray that could potentially prevent asthmatic patients from going into an asthmatic attack. ( 2017 - 2022).

    The young people where also joined by our Board Chairperson, Dr. Auxilla Bupe Ponga and The Acting Chief Conservation Officer of WWF Zambia, Ms. Beauty Mbale and members of The Press.

    The young people in the Boardroom got to share their ideas and solutions with The Minister and he gave each one of them feedback. They shared ideas such as :

    Incorporation of Climate Change in our school curriculum, large scale promotion of biogas technology for farmers , possible ways for more youths to attend COP27, The tax exemption of green technology like biogas technology, Green Investments being promoted , use of technology to detect forest fires, prevent diseases, and keep crops healthy etc.

    We would like to thank WWF Zambia and The Ministry of Green Economy for their support and a special thank you to the youths for representing their communities with solutions on how we can reduce our carbon footprint as a country.

    A special thank you to Honourable Felix Chipota Mutati for sending Mr. Succeed Mubanga (Director of planning at Ministry of Technology and Science - Zambia ) as our Guest of Honour. A special thank you Mr. Roland Seri for representing the Resident Representative from UNDP. A special thank you to all the speakers for Gracing us with their presence.

    We had special appearances from Mizinga Melu and Maureen Nkandu who came to share their life stories with the girls to encourage them that they too Can become success just like them. We also had a special performance from K-Star !!!

    The girls came from three schools , Namely : Momboshi Secondary School, Mupamopamo Secondary School and Chisamba Day Secondary School and the goal was to inspire them pursue careers in STEM and develop financial independence to fight against GBV.
