Updates

  • As we continue to complement the Government of Zimbabwe's efforts to ensure girls of school-going age attend and are retained in school until they complete, we had the pleasure of supporting the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Manicaland Provincial Education Director to host a school block grants protocol training workshop for school heads, Guidance and Counselling teachers and School Development Committee chairpersons. The training sought to shed light on the change in the modality of the provision of Education Assistance support to schools, provide guidance to schools on project selection and management for profitability and sustainability, as well as to share responsibilities in implementing the block granting intervention. 25 schools in Manicaland have been identified for support with 50 more to be supported in 2025 while in Masvingo province 76 schools are being supported aiming to reach 90 schools in 2025. Under The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through USAID Zimbabwe supported DREAMS SMART Girls program, FACT Zimbabwe is working closely with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe to identify schools in areas where high HIV and Gender-Based Violence incidences are reported and renders support to establish sustainable projects that benefit the learners and community, ensuring that girls remain in school as we progress towards ending AIDS by 2030. #SustainableEducation #LeavingNoOneBehind
