At least four tornadoes spawned by the remnants of Hurricane Beryl tore through parts of Western New York on Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service Buffalo office said in two Thursday updates.
Western New York has experienced extreme heat, flash-flooding and tornadoes in recent weeks, but Liz Jurkowski, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service Buffalo office, said the region can look forward to calmer summer weather going forward – at least for a while.
