Todd Tryon
Commissioner

Todd TryonTodd Tryon was named the fourth commissioner of the IFL on October 10, 2019. Tryon presides over America's longest running indoor football league and oversees all administrative aspects of the league, along with day-to-day league operations with an additional focus on strengthening existing franchises and recruiting owners for league expansion.

Tryon is no stranger to indoor football, having spent more than 20 years in the sport as a player, coach, and team owner before becoming commissioner. He played for the Sioux Falls Storm from 2000-2004 before coaching for the Storm from 2005–2008. As a coach he helped guide the Storm to four straight United Bowls. In 2010 he purchased the team, owning and operating it for a decade. Under Tryon's leadership Sioux Falls won a league-record seven United Bowls, including winning six consecutive championships. The Storm posted a regular season record of 126-18 under Tryon’s ownership.

Since becoming commissioner in the fall of 2019 Tryon has added new franchises to the league and also negotiated a comprehensive rights agreement whereby the league will, for the first time, focus on gaining strong national sponsorship and multimedia partners while also leveraging its brand and those of the teams to generate new revenues from a mature licensing program and new digital assets.

Tryon graduated from the University of Buena Vista with a degree in Sports Management and Business. He played football, baseball, and golf at his alma mater. He and his wife Wendy have three children: Tytan, Jersy and Lyncoln.
