RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's security upgraded to the more robust Advanced Security Liaison (ASL) protocol. Security upgradation involves augmenting the security measures currently provided by CISF personnel. The ASL status brings Mohan Bhagwat's security level on par with that of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The new directions were issued on Aug 16 considering a fresh threat analysis report submitted to the MHA by IB. They said that the ASL protocol was previously required only during Bhagwat's visits to certain sensitive locations. Karnataka HC dismisses CBI plea against state''s withdrawal of consent in DA case against Shivakumar
The Karnataka High Court dismissed a CBI petition challenging the Congress government's withdrawal of consent for investigating a disproportionate assets case against Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. The court ruled that issues raised should be addressed by the Supreme Court. The case has been referred to the Lokayukta for further investigation.
BJP challenges J&K political families for open debate on terrorism
