Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
At the center of the 19 Division I Varsity sports at Eastern Michigan University is the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Each varsity team is required to have at least two representatives. This group of student-athletes meets monthly to discuss ways to better the student-athlete experience at EMU. Student-Athletes that are chosen to be a part of this group provide leadership and guidance to their fellow teammates and represent EMU with a great deal of pride. SAAC undertakes many different projects and events throughout the year. These events serve both the community as well as the school. Events may include but are not limited to the following; community service events, student-athlete award presentations & banquets, MAC initiative directives and much more.
Mission Statement
Our mission as the Student Athlete Advisory Committee is to be the student-athlete voice to the athletic administration, provide a bridge between the student-athletes and the entire university community, and educate student-athletes on NCAA rulings. We strive to give our student-athletes a voice in the legislative process that directly impacts their athletic programs. SAAC is a member committee made up of two or more representatives from each of the 18 sports at Eastern Michigan in the hopes of providing an opportunity to make the student-athlete experience as fulfilling as possible.
