Merger

[edit]

I have no problems about merging the Apostle Islands article with the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore article as long as the listing of the islands and information of what islands are in what county would be preserve. The incorporation of the Apostle Islands article as a section of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore would be appropriate. Thank you-RFD (talk) 11:56, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose The islands have a long history and were the spiritual home of Native Americans according to a Wisconsin history television show I'm watching right now. They are far more than just their lakeshores. Royalbroil 19:33, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There information in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore about geology, of the Apostle islands etc that should be moved to the Apostle Islands article. This is confusing and unclear.

Maybe the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore article should be limited to just the history of the national lakeshore.I do know Gaylord Nelson was the one who sponsored the legislation establishing the lakeshore in Congress. Thank you-RFD (talk) 15:34, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added a sentence to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore article about Senator Nelson sponsoring the legislation. However, most of the history section of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore should put in the Apostle Islands article and also some other sections could be put in there also. The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore article needs a major rewrite. Hectares?

[edit]

Why are the measurement for a place in the United States listed in Hectares? I suggest they be changed to Acres. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.15.185.9 (talk) 16:13, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alpha sorts?

[edit]

Would it be good to make 'Islands' table Sortable?

Noticed 'Apostle Islands' template is also not in Alpha order.

Being somewhat new to Wikipedia, I'm not sure how to do this, and if it's Okay?

Be very careful about merging the Apostle Islands and Apostle Islands National Lakeshore pages. Not all of the Apostle Islands are in the National Lakeshore, and the Islands and area have historical and heritage significance that is very separate from the National Park Service's. If merging the sections is really desirable, the reference to the National Lakeshore is probably better suited as a subsection to the Apostle Islands' page than the other way around. --JensenNR (talk) 16:03, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
