Top grossing films by women

[edit]

I've just edited down a claim that The Brady Bunch remains one of the top grossing films directed by a woman. The source use only said that it -became- that, at the time, not that it remains that. Had it said that it remains that, it would still be a 7 year old source making that statement, making it difficult source for the "remains". Here is a more recent list of the top 17 films directed by women, (apparently ranked by unadjusted domestic gross) and Thomas has multiple films on that list, but Brady Bunch is not among them, not even close (the lowest film on the list did well more than double the Brady Bunch numbers.) And we only have domestic gross numbers on Brady Bunch; I expect that it would get more blown-out of the list if international numbers were included, as other Thomas projects like the Squeakquel and non-Thomas projects like Wonder Woman fared quite well in the international market.

It would be good if we had some solid metric, adjusted-gross ranking we could put in. --Nat Gertler (talk) 19:37, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We should also remove the line where it says she's the only one on the list without a male co-director, seeing as how every other film on the list was directed by a women WITHOUT a male co-director... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.14.214.100 (talk) 17:19, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

She's the only one with multiple films on the list without a male co-director. The other person on the list with multiple films, Vicky Jenson, was the only female in a three-person directing team on Shark Tale and a the only female on a two-director team on Shrek. --Nat Gertler (talk) 18:06, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
