Notable concept cars

[edit]

I realise that concept cars exist to generate headlines, hence any mildly successful concept car will have refs, but that doesn't mean they are notable. I'm inclined to reduce the tedious table massively. Greglocock (talk) 22:37, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As I've just added a whole new batch, we're pulling in two different directions here. Which ones would you suggest eliminating? -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 19:53, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is good that there is an explanation why they are in there, but Ford 021C for example seems a very weak candidate, as is the Volt, whicjh was basically a lie. Greglocock (talk) 23:20, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Re: Volt, I wouldn't object to omitting this one (which is not really a concept car so much as an early EV attempt). Re: o21c, as far as concept cars go, it has had an impressive half-life in terms of "generating headlines" (or just staying in the news in one way or another – some examples from a cursory search: 1; 2; 3; 4; 5). Arguably, at least a few of the others listed in the section were more previews of future production models than concept cars. Also, for what it's worth, I'm not a fan of the "tedious table" format either (which displays poorly on mobile devices). A bullet-list with appropriate links would be my preference. -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 05:48, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"First" claim

[edit]

We make the first concept car claim about both the Auburn Cabin Speedster and the Buick Y-Job. It can't be both. -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 05:49, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
