First English person to climb Everest

Yes, I added this (following a source) after you made your suggestion but before I saw it here. It's a bit awkward to state tidily because Haston was breaking trail (they had been taking turns) and he slowed to let Scott reach him. They then arrived at the top together. So, he was in the first pair of Britons to reach the top or, bearing in mind that Haston was Scottish, Scott was the first English person. But saying he was the first "English" sounds a bit silly to me (I'm English but have lived most of my life in Scotland fortunately). Thincat (talk) 12:00, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
