the dude is in the reincarnation of the smashing pumpkins, ya heard? - paul hem

huh ?

[edit]

Ok, here :
"Stephen met Eric's sister, Rebecca Avery, and they dated. It was Rebecca who suggested that Eric and Dave audition Stephen as the drummer for Jane's Addiction. After much beseeching, an audition was arranged for Stephen, who was instantly liked by Eric, Dave, and Perry Farrell."
On Jane's Addiction page :
"Later, Eric's sister introduced the duo to Stephen Perkins, whom she was dating at the time. Perkins in turn suggested that his friend (and Dizastre bandmate) Dave Navarro might be a suitable guitar player for the new band, dubbed "Jane's Addiction"[...]
Who's right ?

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. On Navarro's page, though, it says that Farrell and Perkins brought Navarro in, then Navarro brought Avery. This is confusing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.62.246.217 (talk) 20:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought Farrell went by Avery in anything to do with Jane's [Addiction], the only time I've seen him out of character is when Wil is shown playing keyboard for Elvis [Perkins] during that show where (when?) Perkins closely resembles Robert [Bobby] Dylan. I specifically remember seeing him during the song "Stay Zombie, Stay" [good dog].-Dirtclustit (talk) 16:07, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possible misquote?

[edit]

Maybe the link doesn't lead to the original publication of the Avery interview, because I could have sworn that in addition to the kick drum, Avery described American Bass as nothing more than the root note then fifth. After which he mimicked the tones saying "root! fifth!, root! fifth!" then he spoke through a chuckle "...like we are pleading something..." then broke into full on belly laughs. -Dirtclustit (talk) 16:16, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong school

[edit]

Eric Avery and Dave Navarro went to The John Thomas Dye School—not St. John the Apostle. 70.93.145.251 (talk) 12:14, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
