[edit]

Erotica can't have entered the Billboard Hot 100 number five. Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson's Scream was the first single to enter the in the top 5 in 1995. link

Erotic wasn't record at the end of the "Erotica" recording sessions. -If you read the Shep Pettibone Erotica diaries, you will find out that Erotic was recorded even before the final version of 'Erotica' was recorded. I fixed that, plus i mentioned how it was Pettibones idea to use the writings in the book in the song. Whoopiedoo 23:54, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can we get some sources for that in the article?? It's already in a bad enough mess....

Fair use rationale for Image:Madonna-Erotica-9525.jpg

[edit]

Image:Madonna-Erotica-9525.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Bill Oddie

[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that the chorus of this song is used as the basis of a football chant with the words "Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, rub your beard all over my body"? 83.216.157.38 (talk) 01:49, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

UK Sales

[edit]

According to The Official Charts Company, the song has sold 475,000 copies there.[1]

Orphaned references in Erotica (song)

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Erotica (song)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "nytimes":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 07:20, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced/repeated stuff removed

[edit]
  • "Erotic" CD: "The CD came in a special re-sealable mylar wrapper sleeve resembling a condom in order to promote safe sex.[1] Although "Erotic" has never been commercially released, a remix by William Orbit can be found on the some versions of the single. In 2008, Madonna included the song with another Erotica album track, "Secret Garden", in her feature film debut as a director, Filth and Wisdom."
  • Songwriters: "In the sleeve notes to I'm Going to Tell You a Secret and the live CD The Confessions Tour it credits an additional composer to have written this song: Antony Shimkin. ASCAP have officially confirmed this."
  • Almost all "Release" and "Controversies" sections removed; I will re-add later.

Tempo should be 102, not 120 as mentioned.

[edit]

120 is way too fast.. most BPM analyzing software puts this squarely at 102 so I assume this was a typo. Even songbpm.com which doubles or halves stuff a lot of the time has it at 102. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.9.98.146 (talk) 21:13, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
