Languages in development[edit]

Languages in development should be put back. It is important to know what languages will be coming through. 24.108.18.81 (talk) 04:29, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

-- I think there should be no issue putting back the language in development. Based on this research paper(https://arxiv.org/pdf/2205.03983.pdf) and secondary sources (https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/technology/google-building-a-1000-language-ai-model-to-beat-chatgpt/articleshow/98474049.cms). @Star Garnet:, can you bring back the Languages in development section with modernistic tabular form :-) . Rocky 734 (talk) 03:03, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So sorry about that! I hadn't intended to delete that subsection; I even updated it before table-izing the main section. If anyone wants to suggest info that would be better-served by a table vs. a list, I'd be happy to convert it. (I don't think there's any RS way to source how long a language has been in development?) Star Garnet (talk) 03:17, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply, Thanks @Star Garnet for bringing back the Languages in development section.
>any RS way to source how long a language has been in development?
I don't know but shall try my best to find out the reliable source. I will update here, If I will get any. Rocky 734 (talk) 14:29, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello 2600:1702:3380:AE00:3CE1:ECD2:6FD:AE81 (talk) 02:00, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I. Love you 209.64.129.151 (talk) 19:29, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think this section should be removed now that Google has phased out the Contribute feature. We can no longer tell which languages are in development. Serchia (talk) 18:20, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, but we should at least wait for I/O (May 14), when Google generally announces new languages for Translate. Joseph (talk) 18:16, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is there evidence that it will annouce at May 14, 2024? 216.186.51.109 (talk) 16:06, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah where is the evidence 134.204.2.226 (talk) 00:55, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You lied to me! You didn't prove any evidence and there wasn't any new languages! 64.124.92.43 (talk) 03:33, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I said "generally". Joseph (talk) 07:12, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Google didnt announce anything this year. I guess we can delete this section since we dont have any reference. Joseph (talk) 07:11, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See, I told you need evidence! 216.186.51.108 (talk) 19:43, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, they did announce the languages. It was on June 27, 2024. The evidence for this is here: https://blog.google/products/translate/google-translate-new-languages-2024/?utm_source=kw-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=06262024&utm_content=cta Who is Amire80 (talk) 14:32, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On invention of universal language[edit]

The following text:

> and the system did not invent its own universal language, but uses "the commonality found in between many languages".

In the Neural machine translation section is only supported by a self-published article (a Medium blog post, to be precise), which itself offers no supporting evidence for its claims. There seem to be a number of non-self-published sources which claim the exact opposite of this text.

I think this text should be removed if a better source cannot be found, as there are a number of other published sources which claim the opposite of this. Goats Go Moo (talk) 17:22, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

UX Design[edit]

Design thinking is a problem-solving approach that involves understanding users, challenging assumptions, and redefining problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions. It's iterative and user-centric, often involving the following steps: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. 2405:201:2018:D07A:B0CA:ADC:3A02:4E01 (talk) 13:32, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They did not add Chukchi as one of the languages.[edit]

Those news reports either made a mistake or lied about that. Please do fix. 2A06:63C1:9904:E900:BC05:DF71:C6A0:937B (talk) 10:35, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is also a possibility it might have been confused with Chuukese, which I forgot to acknowledge here. 2A06:63C1:9904:E900:BC05:DF71:C6A0:937B (talk) 10:37, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
