MOS
[edit]MOS:1STABBR indicates that on the first occurrence of an abbreviation it should be introduced with the full expression, ie. "National Rugby League (NRL)". Removing the full version from the lead entirely does not solve the problem of abbreviations later in the text. Nikkimaria (talk) 00:05, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Fleets: As discussed on your talk page, blanket-reverting multiple improvements to the page without discussion because you don't care for 1STABBR is disruptive. Please stop doing that. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:07, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- The instances of NRL to National Rugby League are many hundreds to one, and as such it is highly uncommon to hear the words National Rugby League, whilst the term NRL is highly prevalent.Fleets (talk) 08:17, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- As also noted at your talkpage, if you think this ought to be added to the exceptions list, you're welcome to propose that at MOS talk. But even if you were successful in gaining consensus for that perspective, that doesn't justify reverting the other changes. Nikkimaria (talk) 00:49, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think any should be there, but please use Australian-English in this article per the standard that we will mangle your interpretation into.Fleets (talk) 19:10, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- This edit was yet another unexplained blanket revert not justified by any variety of English. Again, please stop doing that - it is disruptive. Nikkimaria (talk) 23:54, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- Again as other editors have pointed out to you, please use the Australian-English as the style that you are introducing does not fit with the flow or tone of that language. Please follow the flow of the sentence with "in the" being more appropriate than "of the".Fleets (talk) 08:02, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Great. I've restored the other changes with that phrasing in place. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:21, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

Some additional MOS notes: MOS:DUPLINK indicates that links should generally only appear once in the body of an article, and MOS:IMGSIZE indicates that fixed width in pixels should generally not be specified. If there is a particular need to scale an image's displayed size up or down, that can be done using |upright=
to respect user settings. Nikkimaria (talk) 01:19, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
