Time for a rewrite

[edit]

Looks like this page is suffering from neglect. I'm collecting sources to bring it up to snuff. If anyone has information they think needs to be included, feel free to post links here. Valis55 (talk) 02:42, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ric or Rick?

[edit]

How did he spell his first name? I only remember seeing it spelled with the k, which makes me think that's how he was credited on Blind Faith. I'd like to see some evidence that he spelled his name that way to support the move from Rick Grech to Ric Grech. Google finds 33,400 pages for "Rick Grech" (and 72 within Wikipedia) vs 25,400 (32 in WP) for "Ric Grech." To me, the counts are close enough to be inconclusive. Sources supporting either spelling would be useful. Alcuin 05:11, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's listed as "Rick Grech" on the cover of Welcome to the Canteen—you can clearly see it even in the low-res scan here on Wikipedia. I've never seen it spelled "Ric" before now. But perhaps I live in the wrong country to have a strong opinion on the matter. I think both names should be considered acceptable, and possibly even "Ric" should redirect to "Rick" (rather than vice versa), but as long as both work, I don't think it's a big deal. Yeah, we have the same problem with the likes of Reebop Kwaku Baah and alternate spelling Rebop Kwaku Baah, and Rosko Gee with alternate spelling Rosco Gee. They're actually spelled in different ways on different albums... strange...--HisSpaceResearch 08:10, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely Rick. He is credited (as Rick Grech) as co-producer (with Gram Parsons) of Parsons' first solo album, GP, on which he appeared. He also appeared on Parsons' influential Grievous Angel album. His close association with Parsons could usefully be added to the article. --Vvmodel (talk) 20:54, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also credited as "Rick Grech" on Both releases of "Blind Faith" (UK and US) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aaronlongo (talkcontribs) 06:08, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, according to "Clapton: Edge of Darkness" (Sandford) he is referred to as Rick Grech. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aaronlongo (talkcontribs) 06:15, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Birth

[edit]

Just to note when he died his date of Birth was given as 1 November 1945 not 1946. But it is only as reliable as the person who registered the death. MilborneOne (talk) 21:27, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
