Huh, I don't think that Philippe Pétain was a "Republican Head State". He wasn't a republican at all, as Napoléon Bonaparte, L-N III or Louis-Philippe were not too. As a french I've been a bit surprised to see that. It must be removed from the list. (Paulgossart (talk) 02:30, 8 March 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Third nomination for deletion?

This template was split after two nominations but I'm considering the validity of a third... I would raise the term "anachronistic" here in this context, however, in our language we frequently label any political body a "state", the leader is the "head", etc. This applies to all present states, as well as past states. The difference between "France" and "Francia" would be fulfilled by the title of the template, which on other pages includes both "Franks" and "French" alike. Correcting my statement: indeed it is valid to call a monarch the head of state of his or her country. There is nothing anachronistic about it at all and so I do retract my statement and support this template. Altanner1991 (talk) 09:44, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
