tui manua

[edit]

do you know the history of this? DayGG (talk) 11:43, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DayGG. Sure, I can see there has been much disruption to the article today. -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:45, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
where are u from it u don't mind DayGG (talk) 11:47, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DayGG. I am from York in England but that is not relevant on Wikipedia. I see you have blanked the infobox of the article, I will give you a warning for that. -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:50, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
why post that when u don't know anything about it DayGG (talk) 11:55, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DayGG. You are new here and I see that you don’t understand how Wikipedia works. Let me explain. Wikipedia is based on reliable sources. Editors summarise what has been written - by people who do know something about it - in reliable sources.
Your two edits to Tui Manu'a have been to blank the infobox and the leading paragraph. That degrades the article and is widely seen on Wikipedia as vandalism. I recommend that you start talking about improvements to the article on the article talk page. -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 12:10, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Would be out of place in a serious thread, but...

Recent IP block

[edit]

Hi Malcolmxl5 - thanks for blocking this IP, who changed images in medical articles to images of video games. Just wanted to give a heads up that this is a long term vandal, and a 31 hour block might not be enough - see here for their previous IP's doing identical vandalism on the same articles:

Thanks - BugGhost🦗👻 08:59, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that, Bugghost. I’ve reblocked for six months in line with blocks on other IPs and cited these in the reason for blocking. -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 09:16, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Recent deletion and request for SALTing

[edit]

Your recent deletion of a page made by this LTA IP (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/125.198.46.115) should probably be SALTed to make sure no other socks pop up. Jdcomix (talk) 13:29, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It’s  Done. Malcolmxl5 (talk) 13:41, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This one I am suspicious about... Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 20:37, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, Hazem! It certainly falls into a range that he uses. What is he doing? -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 20:52, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have raised my suspicions there since there has not been an investigation for ages. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:11, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

RE redirects searching

[edit]

Turns out intitle: was a bad example - I was thinking of this apparent fact about the search function (that it doesn't search in redirects), but I didn't remember where I saw it (and I'm pretty sure it's not documented, unless it's somewhere obscure). – 2804:F1...14:B176 (talk) 04:47, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh well. As it happened, I went straight to JPxG's contributions and worked from there. No faffing around with searches. -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 05:25, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
