DJ SMITH moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to DJ SMITH. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Annh07 (talk) 19:09, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While I don't know the number of sources that would considered sufficient to 'establish notability', I would ask for a more indulgent approach when reviewing articles from the marginalized global South.. in a world with the deplorable status of net neutrality as well as dispare literacy levels, it would be unjust to demand similar citation density threshold.. especially for the lived experience of mostly orally based and poorly documented people from Kenya (which the DJ SMITH article is based of off)
Wikipedia can be a force for good if it is used to empower the historically uncharted, I hope you @Annh07 won't be on the side of history that perpetuates disenfranchisement via unnecessary beauracratic fetters! Sinatrasona (talk) 12:09, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Sinatrasona, you need to add references to your article (from reliable sources) to verify notability, which is Wikipedia's policy. If you need help, please post a question at Tea house, experienced editors will help you. I think you should discuss this topic at Tea house because you seem to be asking for an exception that is against Wikipedia policy. Annh07 (talk) 15:44, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
having had a deeper perusal of Wikipedia policy I am now convinced that you @Annh07 are a 'disruptive editor' (if not an outright vandalist) ...the sources I cited on the "DJ SMITH" article (hivisasa.com) as well as the one I cited on the "dubbing" article edit (citizen.com) already meet the standards of Wikipedia.
I don't know which criteria you used to determine the "unnotability" of the sources.. but its clearly not from Wikipedia policy. Sinatrasona (talk) 12:15, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I moved your article to draft instead of nominating it for deletion (as the article currently does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability). Moving the article to draft is so you can improve the article and add necessary references. Please understand that I am trying to help you.
Additionally, your recent edits at Dubbing show that you copied content from the Uganda section above then added your link to the article, which is not constructive. You should write in your own words. Annh07 (talk) 15:11, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
