Not done Your first edit as a registered user is to add a rollback permissions request? I love the smell of socks in the afternoon...GbT/c 15:39, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I actually didn't plan to request rollback rights at first, but I will need them to download Huggle, an anti-vandalism tool. I will be taking vandalism very seriously here on Wikipedia, and I have printed the manual for Huggle. Studying the manual thoroughly should probably prevent me from going wrong. Granted I may need some practice with the rollback feature in order to get used to it, but I promise that I will use the feature with care, diligence, and responsibility. --Dylan620 (Homeyadda yadda yaddaOoooohh!) 22:56, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Dylan.
I'm sorry, but you don't appear to have a tremendous amount of experience fighting vandalism. You should try fighting vandalism with the undo feature first to get some experience. You could also install and use Twinkle, which can mimic the rollback feature using Javascript. Twinkle also automates many other features, such as warning users, tagging pages for deletion, and filing reports on WP:UAA and WP:AIV. I would definitely recommend that you try it. If you need assistance installing it, I would be more than happy to help you. J.delanoygabsadds 00:19, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I could use it to easily revert vandalsim. I HATE VANDALSIM!!!! I DESPISE IT!!! I would be extremely responsible with this tool. Please trust me. I will try my best to remove vandalism.
Not done I see little to no anti-vandalism work, and as such it is hard to adequately judge how you would use the tool. Also, your request worries me a bit and makes me feel that you may be a little over-aggressive if granted the flag. Tiptoety talk 21:14, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I could use it to stop spammers who make two bad posts in a row. I also REALLY want to stop spammers. Raggonix 21:06, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Not done The following edits didn't seem like vandalism-reversions to me: [2][3][4][5][6] Edits like those, as they weren't vandalism, should be reverted with an explanation, and since rollback leaves no explanation, reverting those with rollback would likely lead to a removal of the tool. I kindly suggest you read up on vandalism and spam first, and demonstrate knowledge of what vandalism is, before re-requesting (by using the undo feature to revert vandalism rather than good-faith edits). Thanks. Acalamari 21:20, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to be able to use tools to make fighting vandalism easier AJ Kirwin (talk) 06:11, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. You don't have enough experience for me to judge how you'd use the tool. 6 mainspace edits in the last 6 months just isn't enough. I suggest getting twinkle or huggle, reverting some vandalism, and then coming back. Oren0 (talk) 07:15, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, ive been a Wikipedian since 2006 and quite often (and random), i find Vandalism on the strangest pages and i get rid of them by editing the page and deleting it (the old fashioned way lol). I'm hoping to use Rollback to speed up the removal of Vandalism and not waste time going through the whole text for the vandalism DJ MeXsTa (talk) 18:23, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You currently have less than 100 edits, and only a select few of those are vandalism reverts, making it hard for me to really asses your ability to use the tool. Please try using tools such as undo and or twinkle. Tiptoety talk 18:27, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I know I'm new, but I really want to do anti-vandalism work! I can't keep up with the rest of Huggle Users. So, I suppose, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. EmikoC (talk) 00:23, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I'm pretty sure that this may be doomed to fail, but why not try anyway? EmikoC (talk) 00:23, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You currently have less than 50 edits, and very few of those are vandalism reverts. Please try doing some more anti-vandalism work by using such tools as the undo button or twinkle, then come back in a month or so and re-request the tool. I've been reverting vandalism since last year some time, and would like this to make this faster. I have Safari and a lot of anti-vandalism tools (except Twinkle, my favourite anti-vandalism tool) refuse to work, especially on a Mac. Arigatō! Lunakeet 14:48, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I used to be a vandal, but now I see that being an editor is more important. I currenrly revert vandalism with Mike's Wiki Tool, but it is not always efficent enough (doesn't include all templates, crashes everytime eventually, etc.) And I would like to use Huggle instead. (assign permissions) I used to be a vandal as of my first 2-3 articles and some non-sense on a couple of pages but that was about 900 contributions ago and I can't get Twinkle for some reason and have been fighting a lot of vandalism, just want to be more profficient. I'm a somewhat experienced editor with about 6 and a half months under my belt and over 1,000 contributions. Please, I would love to fight vandals with accuracy and consistency. Just a note. —αἰτίας discussion 19:30, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done (for now) I don't really see any experience vandal fighting- in your recent contributions you only have like one vandal revert. If you can't get twinkle to work, let's fix that. Leave a message on my talk page with a description of what (if anything) happens when you try to install twinkle, and we'll see what we can do. L'Aquatique[talk] 20:53, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(ec)  Not done per [10], [11] and [12]. —αἰτίας discussion 21:02, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, I have a lot of vandal reverts and a lot of warnings given out as well and I can't get twinkle because I have IE. As for Aitias, I didn't know one was an interwiki link and I didn't know how to tag ref, I thought the person was just breaking the ref tag, but he wasn't. HairyPerry 13:45, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's why you shouldn't be a rollbacker right now - you simply need more experience with Wikipedia. MaxSem(Han shot first!) 13:58, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Man, i just talked to somebody with 400 contributions and less experience than me and they have rollbacking rights, whats up with that? HairyPerry 14:54, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Approval (nor experience with Wikipedia) does not depend on editcountitis. Your request was declined because two days ago you made several reverts that demonstrate that you don't know lots of things. MaxSem(Han shot first!) 16:17, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was told I could request rollback permissions here, and I'm interested in keep vandalism off as many pages as possible, so this seemed like the best possible way. If there is anything in particular that I need to do before I can be a part of Wikipedia's work in that way, please let me know. -- Covinben (talk) 14:23, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Unfortunately, I have to decline this one. In your current edits to articles, you have little experience with vandal-fighting. Read up on vandalism, and practice reverting using the undo feature for a week or two, and then re-request rollback. Best wishes. Acalamari 17:29, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ive been manually reverting vandalism, rudeness and page blanking for a while and i would like the Rollback permission in order to use Huggle. Using Huggle would make things alot easier for me and so i would be able to get though more pages per day.

I wish to have rollback assigned to use Huggle. As you can see for most of my recent changes ive focused on mostly removal vandals. Sidonuke (talk) 06:48, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I think you could do with a bit more expereince rather than just a day or so reverting. Also this wasn't vandalism. Pedro :  Chat  09:15, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The diff you linked me to doesn't exist but I'm open to all criticism so I may improve. Anyways I'll keep up my work and come back once I have more conribs. --Sidonuke (talk :: contribs) 20:25, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like Huggle would make it easier to issue warnings; I'm having to do that manually now. But to use Huggle, I need rollback rights. --Jw 193 (talk) 00:20, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have been recently doing some vandal busting quite lately and after reading though the rollback and reverting articles. It sounds like a good tool to have. Numyht (talk) 21:08, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You appear to be using WP:UNDO to revert good faith additions to the encyclopedia, and not atempting to engage the editors in dialogue. Would you use Rollback in the same way you use undo? Pedro :  Chat  21:13, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have a very good point Pedro. I hereby withdraw my request until I am more expirence. Thank you. --Numyht (talk) 21:15, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Okay; marked not done but please review WP:RBK and ask for the tool when you're confident in using it and there will be no issue in granting it. Pedro :  Chat  21:17, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have been fighting vandalism but now i am having some problem in rolling back the vandalized edits as i dont have the rollback feature it requires me a lot of time to edit the vandalized material back to normal.BurhanAhmed (talkcontribs) 11:28, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not done You were recently blocked over copyright issues, and your talk page indicates a history of problems of poor tagging for speedy deletion. In addition you don't have much experience in using undo and thisand this do not seem to be blatant vandalism (indeed vandalism at all). All in all I'm not convinced you will handle rollback with the finesse required at this time. Pedro :  Chat  12:10, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking for fast method of undoing edits like vandalism, nonsense, and others that are blatantly nonproductive. Thanks. -- Suntag 05:34, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    •  Not done Nice contributions but the user has not demonstrated/shown any reverts in the past 2000 edits, mostly on templates, images, and categories. --Efe (talk) 06:58, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • I ask that you reconsider. When I undo revisions, I change the "Undid revision xxxxxxxxx by User" edit summary to help everyone to understand what is changed, which is the purpose of edit summaries. In addition, Principles of Wikipedia etiquette suggest explaining reversions in the edit summary box, something "Undid revision by User" does not do. If I find the person's edit raises behavior issues, I change the "Undid revision by User" to clearly indicate what I believe those behavior issues to be per dealing with disruptive editors. Rather than edits mostly on templates, images, and categories, I have 1953 project space edit (mostly in XfD), 1675 article space edits, 120 category space edits, 541 image space edits, and 1341 template space edits. In my 8,300+ edits over the past four months, I've come across many blatantly nonproductive edits and have undid them. When I come across more than one edit to an article by a vandal in a row, it now takes me considerable time to work out a way to revert the latest version made by a user other than the vandal. Rollback will allow me a more quick and efficient way to deal with such edits. Thanks for your efforts in my request. -- Suntag 14:42, 22 November 2008 (UTC) To get a better idea of what your above response entailed, I started doing undos at recent changes, something I haven't done before. The vandalism I've undid in the past had gone unnoticed for quite some time and that is what I plan to use the rollback tool for. Thanks again. -- Suntag 15:43, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I would like to have rollback because I think it would help me to fight vandalism faster (eg. enable me to use tools such as Huggle) and be useful.  Not done I am sorry but as I reviewed your contributions, you had only a few reverts since September, and some of which are not totally vandals but were reverted using only the default message. Also, majority of your edits don't have edit summaries. Please make use of the undo button for a few days, and come back when you're ready. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 09:20, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, I haven't been that active with reverting since September but I have been combating vandalism on and off for the last 4 years. Also, the vast majority of my edits are on projects/talk pages where edit summaries are not usually necessary. Almost all actual changes to articles have comprehensive edit summaries.
