  1. oil (all types of oil, edible, fuel, motor oil, etc.)
    أُضِيفُ قَلِيلًا مِنَ الزَّيْتِ إِلَى السَّلَطَةِ.
    ʔuḍīfu qalīlan mina z-zayti ʔilā s-salaṭati.
    I add a little oil to the salad.
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 24:35:
      يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ
