Your frequently asked questions

No, Flo does not — and will never — sell your data.

Our only source of revenue is the money you pay for your subscription.

Allegations of events regarding user data between 2016 and 2019 have led to a lawsuit against Flo in four countries. We do not accept these allegations and continue to defend our position.

We remain committed to you and the protection of the personal information you share with us. Your privacy is our number one priority.

Yes, your data is safe with Flo. Here’s why:

  1. We don’t sell your data.
  2. We’re the only women’s health app to hold dual ISO certifications in privacy and security — the most internationally recognized standard.

Yes, your data is encrypted at Flo. By using encryption technology as standard, we’re protecting your personal information from loss, theft, and misuse.

Whatever you choose to share with us — whether that’s your cycle dates or your symptoms — is only ever used to make your experience of using the Flo app better (e.g., to make your cycle predictions more accurate or to power any of the other insights we give you).

Read more about how we use your data in our Privacy Policy.

In a nutshell, you have rights when it comes to your data. Read all about how you are in control of your data in our Privacy Policy.

When it comes to your personal data, remember that with Flo, you’re in control. You choose what information you share with us, and you can delete it at any time.

To help keep what you share safe, we make sure:

  • All your data is encrypted to protect it from loss, theft, and misuse.
  • We’re operating to the highest standards of privacy and security. We have a dedicated privacy and security advisory board made up of industry experts who help us lead the way in data protection, and it’s working. Flo is the only female health app that is dual ISO certified in privacy and security — the gold standard in data protection.

To add additional layers of personal protection, you can:

  • Add a passcode or enable Face ID to access the app
  • Turn on Anonymous Mode

Yes, Flo Anonymous Mode is safe. We designed it so that no one — not even us — can identify you by your health data. You can use Flo without any risk of your information being traced back to you. Read more about Flo’s trailblazing and award-winning Anonymous Mode.

You can turn on Anonymous Mode by:

  • Tapping your avatar in the top left corner of your screen
  • Next, tap the dark gray box near the top of the screen
  • Here you will see the Anonymous Mode button below your email address. Use the On/Off toggle button to turn Anonymous Mode on.

We can only vouch for the safety of our own period-tracking app.

When you use Flo, you can rest easy knowing that:

  • We’ll never sell your data.
  • Your data is encrypted to protect it from loss, theft, or misuse.
  • You can add a passcode or use Face ID to make accessing the app even more secure.
  • You can choose to turn on Anonymous Mode at any time for an added layer of privacy protection.

If you’re considering using another period-tracking app, make sure that you:

  • Check their privacy policy to see what data they collect and process, and what your rights are. Will they respect your privacy rights to access, port, or delete your data?
  • Know how they store and use your data.
  • Look to see if they have industry-standard certification. Flo has been awarded the gold standard double ISO certification in privacy and security. Have they?
  • Double-check that any advanced data features are explained fully to you. Flo does this by publishing white papers and open-sourcing information in the interest of transparency. Do they?

You have the right to request that we erase your personal data at any time, no matter where you are in the world.

Simply:

  • Email your deletion request to us at support@flo.health.
  • Or delete your account directly in the app in your “Settings.”
