Transverse-momentum distribution of π0 and its product gamma rays

Abstract

We study the relationship between the transverse-momentum distribution of π0 and that of its product γ rays. A new relationship between the average transverse momenta is obtained by taking into account the mass of the pion. The correlation between the average transverse momentum and energy density as observed in the Japanese-American Cooperative Emulsion Experiment is discussed.
