Smartschoolboy9 or Smart School Boy 9 was an Instagram user who dressed and acted like a schoolboy in high-heeled boots, glasses and white face makeup. Smartschoolboy9's content has been described as disturbing, surreal and fetishistic. It is suspected that the user also ran the accounts truth_sticks_11, girl.chloe12 and several other accounts that posed as children, which similarly posted creepy, sometimes AI-generated and surreally edited photos of children, with girl.chloe12 posting images of what appeared to be a real girl rather than an AI-generated person. The content has been described as predatory and fetishistic, with some speculating that the accounts could be linked to an age-play kink, while others speculate they are used to prey on minors. Several comments left by Smartschoolboy9 on children's Instagram accounts suggest this, although it is unconfirmed if the user has any known victims. In 2024, internet sleuths began investigating the accounts as Smartschoolboy9 garnered virality. Purportedly, Smartschoolboy9 was run by a Doncaster, England man named David Walter, who has allegedly been spotted dressed in the makeup and outfits as early as the late 1990s. Smartschoolboy9 has purportedly responded to accusations of being a predator using social media accounts that are believed to belong to him in which he seemingly denies being predatory.

Online History

Truth_sticks_11

On October 3rd, 2021, truth_sticks_11, an account purportedly run by a mother and young boy, posted a video in which the purported mother calls out Instagram user abdullah_chakir_ for pretending to be a child, continuing to call him out in subsequent videos. The page continued to call out predators online and shared photos of her alleged son at school.

The photos became increasingly strange and surreal over time, featuring heavy editing. Some suspect they were AI-generated. The posts featured captions about how much the boy loved school, with some captions being attributed to the boy himself rather than the mother. Some of the images were sexually suggestive, featuring the boy posing in inappropriate positions and situations.

This can be seen through a video posted by YouTuber^[1] redwine, which has archived all or most of truth_sticks_11's posts prior to its deletion.

Girl-chloe12

Another notable, related account was girl-chloe12, which was an account purportedly run by a 12-year-old girl named Chloe and monitored by her mother. Like truth_sticks_11, the page purportedly made posts calling out predators and posted similarly edited images of Chloe, with the two pages even interacting with each other.

Many of the user's posts included images of Chloe wearing high-heeled mini boots or references to the boots. According to claims online, the images of Chloe were not AI-generated, but photos of an actual child. It has been suggested that this was fetish content.

Smartschoolboy9

Like the previous two accounts, Smarschoolboy9's account posted frequently bizarre content and seemed obsessed with high-heeled mini boots. The account began posting as early as March 12th, 2021, prior to truth_sticks_11. However, Smartschoolboy9 did not post images of children. Rather, the user would post photos and videos of an adult, possibly the account runner, pretending to be and dressed as a schoolboy in high-heeled mini boots and stark white face makeup.

The way the user is dressed resembles the style of some of the edits posted to girl.chloe12 and truth_sticks_12. In some videos, the user stuck his tongue out and made wet squelching noises.

It has been speculated that Smartschoolboy9 ran the girl.chloe12 and ruth_sticks_11 accounts due to the similarities in their content and the voiceovers in each of the accounts' videos. The account's contents were largely archived by YouTuber^[2] redwine.

Online Presence

Online Investigation and Reactions

Awareness of the accounts grew online starting around April 15th, 2024, when Redditor u/NumerousCut792 made a post to /r/Instagram^[3] titled, "Creepy accounts pretending to be kids." The post shares screenshots of Girl-chloe12, truth_sticks_11 and smartschoolboy9's accounts and some of their content. The post gained over 200 upvotes in five months and reads:

I came across a reel randomly and it’s led me down this weird rabbit hole of people using ai or dressing up pretending to go to school. They all seem to have high heels (check images) in them. Is this a age play thing or something more sinister? Literally anything helps as I keep trying to look for answers.

On July 20th, Redditor u/mariaiaiiaia then made a post to the subreddit /r/InternetMysteries^[4] about the accounts, garnering over 1,600 upvotes in two months. The post shared alleged evidence that the accounts of smartschoolboy9 and another account said to be related, stefanieschoolie, followed actual children on Instagram. Purportedly, at least a dozen accounts seemingly related to smartschoolboy9 were found on Instagram.

Alleged Identity

As interest around the pages increased in mid-2024, online sleuths began attempting to identify the man and his location using contextual clues within his content, such as the locations in his videos and photos. These investigations largely took place on Discord and the /r/smartschoolboy9^[5] subreddit.

Internet sleuths determined that Smartschoolboy9 was supposedly a man in Doncaster, England named David Walter or David Alter. Purportedly, the police have been informed of his accounts. His Facebook^[6] account is suspected to be David London. His X^[7] account is suspected to be @integrity_good, which he used to respond to the allegations against him as the investigation went on, but has since been shut down.

Nick Crowley Video

On August 25th, 2024, YouTuber^[8] Nick Crowley posted a video about Smartschoolboy9 and the investigation surrounding him and his purported other Instagram accounts, garnering over 3.7 million views in just over a week. The video shares the details of the investigation leading up to his purported identity and includes screenshots of numerous comments left by Smartschoolboy9 on child Instagram users' pages, ending by showing a video in which it appears that Smartschoolboy9 is chasing a young boy in public while wearing heels. It also describes how his alleged identity was found, claiming that he often referred to the name "David" in his posts, which led online sleuths to find David Walter.

Nick Crowley's video also shares screenshots of Smartschoolboy9 responding to allegations of being a predator on his purported social media accounts, denying the accusations.

In collaboration with Nick Crowley, YouTuber Nexpo also uploaded a video on Smartschoolboy9 on August 27th under the title "Instagram’s Darkest Rabbit Hole," which received over 1.2 million views, 68,000 likes and 6,300 comments in six days.

Further Investigation

The man's alleged identity and the Nick Crowley video inspired further digging into Smartschoolboy9's alleged online accounts. For example, on August 26th, 2024, Redditor u/SpecialistNote4611 made a post to /r/smartschoolboy9^[8] about the user's rumored Facebook page, David London, writing that posts on the page seemed to suggest he has age dysmorphia, was raised in the Worldwide Church of God and has "conservative nostalgia."

On August 30th, Redditor u/Imanasshole_ posted a series of screenshots to /r/smartschoolboy9^[9][10] depicting DM conversations the user had with David Firth of Salad Fingers fame, who lived in the Doncaster area. Firth claims to remember the man and that he dressed the same way in the 1990s and early 2000s.

On September 1st, 2024, Redditor u/XxPhAsMoSxX posted images of what they believe to be Smarschoolboy9's house to /r/smartschoolboy9.^[11][12] On September 2nd, u/Hot_Supermarket_9970 made a post compiling further evidence that Smartschoolboy9 has been dressing as a schoolboy since the 90s. The evidence consists of an archived Usenet post in which someone asks for information on a man whose description seems to resemble Smartschoolboy9.

Memes

As the story of Smartschoolboy9 spread online in late 2024, he notably became the subject of memes across social media. For example, on September 1st, 2024, X^[13] / Twitter user @XxCSGAMER911xX posted an edit placing Smartschoolboy9's face over the Hawk Tuah video that gained over 1,800 likes in two days.

On September 2nd, X^[14] user @jens_body posted a meme referencing Smartschoolboy9 that garnered over 5,000 likes in a day.
