Cetacea (a Graeco κῆτος 'cetus', 'quilibet magnus piscis', vel etiam 'monstrum marinum') sunt infraordo qui varia mammalia marina late appellata mysticetos, delphinidas, et phocoenidas comprehendit.

In mythologia Graeca, monstrum a Perseo victum appellatur Ceto, a constellatione Ceto significatum.

Cetologia est ramus bilogiae marinae qui studium cetaceorum efficit.
