Sūn Zhōngshān, litteris Sinicis 孫中山, alibi saepius Sun Yat-sen appellatus (12 Novembris 186612 Martii 1925), fuit politicus novarum rerum studiosus Sinensis qui primus, imperatoribus a potestate vix remotis, officium praesidis huius civitatis adsumpsit. Conditor reputatur duarum rerum publicarum sibi aemularum, quarum maior terram continentem Sericanam imperat, minor insulam Formosam.

Sinice publice et communiter se nomine adulescentiae 孫文 Sūn Wén appellare solebat. Intra familiam suam nomen rite statutum 孫德明 Sūn Démíng habuit, nomen infantiae 孫帝象 Sūn Dìxiàng. Annum agens duodevicesimum in religione Christiana baptizandus nomen rituale 孫日新 Sūn Rìxīn selegit. Hongcongi anno 1883 professor litterarum Ou Fengchi pseudonymo 孫逸仙 Sūn Yìxiān primus nuncupavit, pronuntiatione Cantonensi Sun Yat-sen, quod nomen discipulus inter contubernales et postea exsul apud Europaeos semper gerebat: ita linguis externis etiam hodie appellatur. Effugus in Iaponiam a socio Miyazaki Tōten philosopho nomen falsum 中山 Nakayama (scil. "medius mons") recipit. Eodem agnomine ipse postea in Sinis uti incepit, ubi hae litterae 中山 Zhōngshān ("medius mons") leguntur: inde Sinice saepissime 孫中山 Sūn Zhōngshān appellatur.

Sun duce imperium Sinarum in rem publicam redactum est. Anno 1911/1912 praeses Rei publicae Sinarum fuit. Tum factionem Kuomintang condidit. Annis 19211925 iterum praeses rei publicae fuit, sed saepius contra milites seditiosos pugnare coactus est.

Sun, primus Sinae Nationalisticae praecursor, saepe appellatur Pater Patriae Sinarum Republicanarum—iudicium amborum Sinarum Continentalium[1] et Taivaniae.[2] Sun primas partes egit in clade Domus Qing, ultimae domus imperialis Sinensis, quae mense Octobri 1911 coepit. Re publica Sinarum anno 1912 condita, ipse fuit primus praeses pro tempore, et deinde Popularem Sinarum Factionem Nationalem (Kuomintang) cum aliis condidit.[3] in quo primus dux fuit. Sun et in continente et in Taivania valde colitur.
