    Professor Curtis Bradley, currently teaching at Chicago Law, is a scholar of foreign relations law, international law, and constitutional law, and he was previously on the Duke Law faculty for many years. He will discuss his latest book, Historical Gloss and Foreign Affairs: Constitutional Authority in Practice (Harvard University Press, 2024). His talk will focus on how the foreign affairs powers of Congress and the President have often stemmed from historical practice rather than the text of the Constitution or judicial decisions. Last term the Court invalidated the ATF rule regarding bump stocks, and this term the Court will consider a challenge to federal regulation of "ghost guns." Duke Law Professors Stuart Benjamin and Maggie Lemos and Georgetown Law Professor Kevin Tobia will discuss these cases, whether the Court is applying special scrutiny to gun-related regulations, and how the demise of Chevron might impact this area of law.
