The Minnesota Legislature empowered the Council for Minnesotans of African Heritage to ensure that people of African heritage benefit from the social, political, economic resources, policies and procedures of the State of Minnesota. During the 2020 Legislative Session, the Council will focus on supporting community driven policy initiatives that address concerns in the African Heritage community. In addition, the Council will be focused on supporting policies Chief Authored by members of the United Black Legislative Caucus and policies that generally address specific barriers that impact people of African Heritage disproportionately.
