🌱 Chaparral Student Raises $7K + SPD Investigates Acts of Violence

Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

1. Two Scottsdale police officers have been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after responding to a domestic dispute on Wednesday night. The incident occurred near Scottsdale and Thomas roads, and a physical altercation took place after police arrived. One adult male involved in the incident was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. An aggravated assault investigation is underway. (12news.com KPNX)
2. Scottsdale Police Department issued a statement concerning its investigation of "multiple off-campus assault incidents that involved students from Mohave Middle School and Saguaro High School." SPD is investigating acts of violence that occurred on Aug. 17, 18, 19 and 21, some of which were filmed with videos posted on social media. 3. Michael Reust, a senior at Chaparral High School, raised $7,000 for Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona. Reust, who has been singing since he was in elementary school, offered a "musical greeting" in exchange for a donation to the nonprofit organization. His mom struggled to find consistent housing when she came to the U.S. as a refugee from Slovakia before he was born, so he wanted to use his passion to have a positive influence on others who may be facing housing challenges.
