  1. DeFalco's Italian Deli & Grocery celebrated 50 years of business! The restaurant opened in 1973 and moved from two different locations before landing at the current location at 2334 N. Scottsdale Road. The family-owned business is currently under the general management of Anthony DeFalco, who will take over the business when his parents retire in another year. Guests can enjoy over 300 different types of wine, multiple products from Italy, and several in-house recipes that are 100 years old. You can find more restaurant information at defalcosdeli.com. (scottsdale.org)
  2. The city of Scottsdale warned residents that "Maricopa County is seeing an increase in mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus." Residents are encouraged to reduce their risk of bites by following the four R's: Repel, Remove, Repair, and Remind. Use EPA-registered insect repellent, remove standing water from your yard or home, repair damaged door and window screens, and remind others about mosquito safety. You can find more information here. (City of Scottsdale)
  3. Looking for a place to pamper or board your furry friend? Consider checking out Oh My Dog! Boutique Hotel & Spa in Old Town Scottsdale at 7137 E. Stetson Drive #8. The hotel and spa offer "state-of-the-art grooming," luxury accessories, toys, and treats for purchase, and a 4,000-square-foot pet hotel. Furry hotel guests enjoy a daily agenda that includes scheduled time for snacks, learning, play, and cuddling. Owner and Scottsdale native Jackie Griffin operates the family-owned business, and you can often find her retired 15-year-old standard poodle, Navar, sitting on a bar stool behind the front desk.
