  1. Scottsdale's DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Paradise Valley at 5401 N. Scottsdale Road is under new ownership. The $115.5 million deal was finalized on July 21. Southwest Value Partners, led by Cary Mack and Mark Schlossberg, sold the property to Jackrabbit PropCo LLC, which is a company "linked to Global Hospitality Investment Group" founded by Kevin Colket. 2. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has requested some resort additions. A request was submitted "for approval to construct nine new structures consisting of 37 villas units and six bungalow units, located just north of the existing Sunset Beach pool." Private villas and bungalows are currently "hot commodities for high-end travelers." An event center and one or two new restaurants are also planned at the resort. (scottsdale.org)
  3. The city has released the August program guide for the Scottsdale Video Network. As a reminder, you can check out this live stream video network highlighting Scottsdale on the city's website, on YouTube, or on Cox channel 11. Scottsdale Video Network is now also available on "Roku, Fire, Apple TV, Android TV mobile phone and laptop through the LocalBTV app." In addition to public meetings, viewers can check out "Hashknife Pony Express" to learn about the riders' journey from Payson to Scottsdale, "Grow Strong & Healthy Trees in the Desert" for tips on where and when to plant, or "Where Summer Winters" to learn about the history of local resorts.
