Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. In comparison to other communities in the East Valley, Scottsdale is making solid progress with short-term rental regulations. The permitting rule took effect in Scottsdale on Jan. 8, and the city has licensed 81 percent of the 4,100 short-term rentals. Scottsdale trails just behind Paradise Valley, which has a 97 percent compliance rate after the town's rule went into effect last November. However, Scottsdale is well ahead the next highest compliance rate in the East Valley, which is Tempe at 37 percent. (The Arizona Republic)
  2. A man has been arrested after a shooting at a Scottsdale residence on Monday night. The incident occurred near 2nd and 68th streets at about 11:40 p.m. The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries but was in stable condition as of Tuesday. A woman was inside the residence at the time of the incident but was uninjured. Scottsdale Police Department is still investigating the details surrounding the shooting. (NewsBreak)
  3. Attention jazz lovers! Ravenscroft at 8445 E. Hartford Drive has published its upcoming lineup of jazz musicians. Ravenscroft Hall is an "intimate 200 seat concert hall that showcases world-renowned and Grammy Award-winning artists featured in some of the finest Jazz performances in the Phoenix metro area." Jesus Molina will kick off the lineup with a performance on Sept. 16, followed by Joel Harrison on Sept. 30. You can check out the full schedule and purchase tickets here. (scottsdale.org)
