  1. Scottsdale City Council approved a $125,000 grant from Maricopa County to start a "Post-COVID Education and Social Isolation Intergovernmental Agreement" for seniors and disabled adults affected by social isolation with the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will include multiple "socialization field trips" to places like the Musical Instrument Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Desert Botanical Gardens, Museum of the Southwest, and even Scottsdale's Water Processing Plant. The program will also provide "post-COVID education," preparedness kits, and transportation for socialization activities. For more information, go to scottsdaleaz.gov/seniors or contact the Granite Reef or Via Linda Senior Centers. (scottsdale.org)
  2. William Reel, a 31-year-old Scottsdale resident, has been arrested on charges of stealing $9,000 worth of golf equipment from Troon North Golf Club in North Scottsdale. Reel was caught on surveillance video stealing two guest golf bags that were "inside a storage room restricted to employees." Several additional empty golf bags were found in his apartment, but Reel told police that he found these bags near dumpsters. (Fox 10 Phoenix)
  3. Have you noticed the driverless cars on Scottsdale streets and want to know more about them? Residents are invited to learn more about Waymo's autonomous driving technology by attending a free virtual presentation at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. You can register online here.
